  What or Who do JW's believe is Gog/Magog?

  when i was a young kid in the 70's and we studied the "nation shall know that i am jehovah" book it really scared me especially the part of gog/magog.

  they way the elders would constantly tell us that we did not love jehovah enough and we should do this and do that.

  i remember one time the bookstudy conductor told my bookstudy group that "if you all don't want to be part of gog/magog you should pioneer".

  From what I was told back in the day, Gog and Magog according to the JW's is Wicked/Evil People(Gog) from the Wicked/Evil Nations(Magog)

  the official watchtower 2006 service year report is not out yet, but i have it on good sources that this year's increase on publishers number is 1.9%.

  the average number of publishers will be around 6,500,000. .

  here's the % increase for this decade:.

  Among every four humans in the world, one of them is Muslim. Muslims have increased by over 235 percent in the last fifty years up to nearly 1.6 billion. By comparison, Christians have increased by only 47 percent, Hinduism, 117 percent, and Buddhism by 63 percent. Islam is the second largest religious group in France, Great Britain and USA (Muslims in USA are 10 million and Jews are 6 million).(year 2000 stats).....so with the population of the world at about 6 billion JWs make up about .001% and the USA population at 300 million JW's would be about .333%, correct me if my math is wrong but even if I'm remotely close the Witness numbers are very insignificant on the world-wide scale.........JW's have nothing on the big guys.

  I visit once or twice a week and have an average of about 10 posts per month. Not much compared to some, but hey its quality, not quantity, well thats what wifey tells me, lol.

  anyone feeling a wee bit guilty about celebrating Thanksgiving and Xmas??

  i was feeling a bit guilty about celebrating as this is my 1st year out and i know the history of all the holidays and birthdays are pagan or bloody or idolatrous.. .

  but i was thinking that it's not what someone made them in the past but what they are right now.. to us, at this moment.

  am i going to sit down on thanksgiving.. and say, "i hate those indians, think i'll go kill some"..????

  Nope, not the slightest. Thanksgivng to me is a chance to catch up with family(wifes side) eat some good home cooked food, watch a football game on TV and just basically enjoy the time off from work(5 days this year, wooo hooo!) Who could feel guilty about that?......BTW Happy Thanksgiving! to all my Thanksgiving celebratin, turkey lovin, beer drinkin, corn on da cob eatin, football lovin comrades out there!!!!

  i think most "worldly" people consider jws a nusiance---especially on a saturday morning!

  they hate being bothered by peddlers at their door.

  some people can't stand the witnesses' smugness and self righteous attitude.

  Most persons I have heard say that the knocking is what irritates them the most......personally what I can't stand is when something goes wrong in their lives or in the world they automatically blame it on Satan. Have they ever heard the term SH#T HAPPENED,SH$T HAPPENS and SH%T will continue to HAPPEN for a very long time!!....get over it man!

  4 JW families in my neighbourhood; no new tract delivered to anyone yet!

  i find this astounding, and really speaking volumes of the "preaching work" being done by the jw's today.

  i live in a nice developement with sidewalks, street lights, etc.

  by my count, there are about 4 jw families in my associated neighbourhood, with one family living diagonally across the street from me.

  We know of one exclusive street in this town where at least 8 JW families live, you can see by the luxury cars, SUV's etc. that each of them are trying to keep up with each other materially. We call it JWVILLE. Seems like you have one too! And btw I haven't recieved a tract from anyone of them either.

  Hello all here's an update.

  hello all, missed you all lots.. thought id pop on and update you, well bubs has missed both of her due dates, im as big as a whale and looking forward to having it all over.

  i go into hosp today for my last app where i will be booked in for inducement, seeings tho she doesnt want to make her appearance at all.. ive been in and out of hosp with health problems, and those braxton hicks well they hurt like hell and made me think i was in labour more than once.

  but at least i get a date today which should be in the next few days i will be holding my baby girl.. hope you are all well.

  Being a man who has lived with two women(wife, daughter) for the past 14 years I usually stay away from topics that have the words "period".... "cycle"...."time of month".....lol, but I just had to say I wish you, family, and your newborn the best of health!

  In the matter of disfellowshipping you will never hear this: John 16:2,3...............2 Men(judicial commitee)will expel(disfellowship)YOU from the synagogue(kingdom hall). In fact, the hour is coming when everyone(JW)that kills(shuns)YOU will imagine he has rendered a sacred service to GOD. 3 But they will do these things because they have not come to know either the father or me.
