I’ll try to find something in English, give some time I had a page somewhere. The link actually speaks (humorously) about Mr. Patermann who continuing to be involved in the matter of JW receiving greater privileges and status, even though he is a pensioner now. He has much of the WT literature, subscribes the WT &A! mags and keep himself updated with the WT teaching. Also he has endless files on JW matters and cases. Remember he was never a JW. The first time I spoke to him I thought this is what an elder should be like. It is an encouraging article I thing, because here is someone who has been involved for so many years and does not quit because his duty(time) is over, but it has become so important to him so that he keeps criticizing the WT policies before the high court.

As this pervert is a devout member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses I wonder for how long he has been doing this and how many little JW girls he has had his hands on? Also what made him turn on school girls, since the KH is much easier hunting grounds?

The matter is public, he already has brought reproach upon Jah’s name, maybe they will be instructed to DF him for this or if possible some other reason.

What will the police find on his computer? Did he have a position in the congregation? Are the elders just as surprised as his family was, or is there something they know about him, but did not tell anyone? Just wondering!

Castration is a good idea as just one of the things they should do to this pervert leading a double-life.

Yes, to us this is a bigger issue compared to the r&f, since they are trained not to dwell on ‘negative thinking’ rather to trust in Jehovah (don’t think, do nothing) and “incite each other to love and fine works”.

In most cases seeds of doubt (actually truth) grow very slowly. In my case I often wonder what took me so long. The question marks in the back of the mind work slowly and are paralyzed by the constant activities and great fear of ‘nowhere to go’ plus the shunning. Most JW I still speak to are more involved with their own problems and complain about the lack of love, careless elders and are occupied with their enmities among other brothers.

I believe mainly outside force will bring WT policy changes. That’s why we should do what we can to alert and educate the public, the media and authorities. If we don’t, hardy anyone else would.

Minimus, That was one of the main reasons why I left. But most JW deny this problem and call it persecution since they can not comprehend the systematic cover-ups within their “clean organisation”. Even abused victims remain in the organisation not realizing that they were not an exception, or they leave many years later after consulting professional help. The r&f can be deceived more easily, but I wonder how this works so well with elders, COs, DOs and WT heavy weights?

my family wrote a letter to the Berlin senate, there the officials were already well informed about this problem and referred us to the internet. The government officials we spoke to could also tell us about the change in WT policy regarding blood and voting before it was printed in the WT, because this was criticised during the process of WTS alias “Religionsgemeinschaft der Zeugen Jehovas in Berlin” suing for greater privileges and status. The responsible person representing the state and standing up very strongly for abuse victims is Wolf-Dietrich Patermann (never a JW). Through writing letters and petitions to the government I have spoken to politicians who are surprisingly well informed about JW victims going public and told me about silentlambs as I did not read ‘apostate’ material at that time. They considered JW to be a peaceful religion before finding out about this scandal, which also directed there attention to other control groups like Mormons, etc.
I can’t offer you statistics or numbers, but my personal experience is that the message is out and has reached many of the responsible officials.

I have never seen the Dateline program myself but I can surly witness the snowball effect it had here in Germany. This issue got JW and authorities to think.

...teased, harrassed, tormented in school because you were jw and couldn't participate in what other students participated in?

how old were you when it began to happen?

how did you feel and how did you react to it?

As a child I hated Christmas and Easter time I couldn’t wait for it to be over. Not that I was harassed for not participating, but it gradually made me an outsider. My teachers and classmates showed understanding for my (parents) faith. When all children got a piece of Christmas chocolate on there desk my teachers would put a regular candy bar on my table. It was actually the pity my teachers, the other children and there parents had for me which I found most uneasy about. And my mixes feeling of guilt about the atmosphere, thinking “wow, this is so nice and warm – but Jehovah is angry and Satan is happy about Christmas”. There were always some kids in school picking on me so I was kind of used to that –children can be very cruel. I cant explain it, there was always this heavy unbearable weight to carry, a feeling I did not understand.

I haven’t remembered this for a while, we often stayed home from school when we had our birthdays and it was ok with my mother. Today I think this is one of the things why I was an extremely shy and insecure child and youngster.

My fathers police was “children should be seen and not heard” so we never dared to question anything regarding ‘the truth’.

Studying with JWs

i have just started studying with jws, (on a regular basis) about a month ago, and i really enjoy it.

- i am wondering what will happen in the next couple of months, knowing i will continue going to the kingdom hall and studying.

will i go door to door sometime?

That’s a good point Shazard.

As a JW I believed we were bible students, and true we learned a lot about the bible –being trained to quote key-scriptures to prove the WT doctrine. As I started questioning the teaching program I realized that the ‘question-and-answer-coverage’ of WT publications was not a study of the scriptures. It is not even a discussion of the scriptures because the ‘right answer’ is only the one that summarises the WT pre prepared interpretation.

Researching the origin, the early publications and prophesies of JW is a valuable study I which I had done before getting baptized.

Reading the bible itself and asking questions is the best to do, since the bible itself encourages it.

Dear Lady Lee,

Thank you very much for this thread. I have been away from the JWs for a couple of years now and over the years looked into this forum. Reading the discussions I often felt ashamed because of the frustration evident and the unnecessary insulting of JW. I thought this forum was contra productive and is serving the WTS a good service. I imagined how a active JW would take this bible study here to show him an example of Satan’s apostasy, hate and persecution and compare it with the love (bombing) experienced at the meetings.

Only through googling on certain topics was I referred back to this forum and enjoyed some of the deep discussions and thoughts posted here.

Some of the things JW post are hurtfully wrong and are a pain to read, but disrespecting and insulting them only makes the WT manipulation more powerful.

Thank you again. I think this topic needs to be discussed regularly. (Maybe it is -I don’t know as I am a newbie)
