Not All Christians Are Alike
by lovelylil init seems from my perspective only, as i am only speaking for myself, that there are many people who like to debate on christianity and christian beliefs no matter what the initial topic was about originally.
it seems that many who do this are basing their beliefs about christianity on what they learned from either one extremely legalistic group known as jehovahs witnesses or from one of the just as extreme fundamentalist sects with similar attitudes.
i would like to point out though that main stream christianity considers these groups to be cults of christianity.

by Terry inthe watchtower magazine has used the word "soon" on many an occasion to point out to its readership how near armageddon really is.. a word that can mean anything, in effect, actually means nothing.
consequently, let's examine what "soon" actually means by definition and use.. there can only be three stages of time:.

Insane religious banter!

my father had a renter in one of his houses, who was a whacked out christian.
when she moved out, she wrote these kinds of things all over the walls and we had to repaint the entire house to get it cleaned up.

Yeah, there is a former employee who calls me at work who says he is a born again Christian, and he thinks he's been implanted with a micro chip so the government can follow him around, and steal his money. The problem with him, is, that sometimes, he makes more sense than sane people, and THAT, is scary. (He must have heard me, because he just called, no kidding)

Are Americans the prudes of the world?
by free2beme inwhen i went to europe, i saw nudity in commercials, and other sexual topics used to advertise products.
as an american, i was shocked to see such things in places that seemed out of place of such tools of such an extreme nature.
i tend to feel, even to this day, that public nudity in advertising is something that is over the top.

Are most JW`s deeply unhappy?

through family i still have contact with quite a few and hear of stories of whats going on.
i am like a different person now i am out.

Actually, we are supposed to be happy while being persecuted, so if you are unhappy, you are either not getting persecuted or you are not getting enough persecution.

When will people "stop" relying on "churches and religions" for happiness?
by booker-t init just breaks my heart when i read some of the posts on this websites and hear all of the horror stories about people and families suffering because of what the church or religion did to them.
not just jw's or mormons, but catholics, born-agains are also included in this group.
i bet you could find just as many disgruntle ex-catholics and ex-born-agains out in the world who have been severly hurt by their church.

I didn't like the idea of having only 80 years, either. That was 20 plus years ago.
You see, some of us were good little Dubs. Sitting on the edge of our seats to get the newest directives from the WTS. Don't go to college? o.k. we will obey, after all, the Big-A is just around the corner. Don't buy that house? o.k. the Big-A is coming soon anyway. Don't have a child? You say this is not the time to be having children? o.k. since we are living in the time of the 1914 Generation that will see the Big-A, we can have kids after the Big-A..........and on it goes. Am I bitter? Probably. Are these the facts? Yes. I wasn't a rebel, you see. I was just a good little sheep. Baaaaaaaaa.
