  What will you miss?

  we all know witnesses believe in the paradise.

  they make it seem like it will be such a beautiful place free of crime, pollution, sadness,etc.

  but, if there was really going to be a paradise here on earth the world as we know it would be so different.

  Would you have stayed if essential changes were made?

  when you began doubting the wts did you decide that there was no remedy and you had leave them, or did you say if they change on such and such points i will stay on?

  what were those points that if changed you would approve of the jws and stay in?

  for me it was not an issue because i wanted to see many changes and they wouldn't carry them out.

  i spoke with a well placed, highly responsible brother some weeks ago, who didn't care for my opinions about corruption "from the.

  bottom all the way to the top" in the organization.

  he defended the society against every accusation i made but was stopped short by one.

  1. The work is moving along. Buildings and property are being bought and sold, the holdings of the WTS are increasing, except for us sheep. We are being encouraged to simplify our lives.

  2. I'm not 90 yet, but I am tired. Must be the 1 hour to work and 1 hour home in heavy traffic that's doing it. Oh, and don't forget the high cost of living.

  3. I have never witnessed a sister quickly putting up her hand to correct anyone's comment at any study...............ever.

  4. Would you have felt the same way if it was a 1 room shack in the worst part of town? Did you counsel the brother as to why he was so materialistic in owning such a home in such a 'ritzy' neighborhood?

  5. It takes 1 1/2 hours of discussion to settle in on one scripture? Excuse me, brother, but don't you know the bible well enough to do it in a lot less time? By the way, since when have you been concerned about 'context'?

  After all this and you wonder why I have doubts about the Org.?

  ya know... i'm a bit amazed at times at how utterly out of touch with reality jw's can be.

  here's a little bit of a background of what's been going on....

  i've been having an on going issue with my jw family about my husband & i(and our 4 young children) no longer going to meetings and us having questions/problems with this religion.we are not df'd nor da'd (at this point) but have not been to a meeting in about 7 months and have been inactive for probably 3-4 years now.we haven't lived near my parents for several years so they have been a little "in the dark" so to speak as to us being inactive but we kinda were given a bit of "lee-way" since 5 yrs.

  I know someone who tells relatives like yours (but not quite as bad as yours) this:

  "I grew up in the truth. I know the truth. You are not telling me anything new. You are not telling me anything I don't already know". "Next subject, please".

  I don't think there is a need to put yourself thru this everytime one of your family members calls you on the phone. You might as well be talking to that moose, because they don't hear a word you say. You know how witnesses think. While you are talking, they are thinking of a response.

  a rumor alert indeed, but it could be related to the distribution of kingdom news no.37, "false religions end is near.".

  the following is posted from e-watchman's forum.. make of it what you will, but in light of all the rhetoric about "deliverance at hand" and "independent thinking", nothing would surprise me anymore.. http://e-jehovahs-witnesses.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=1502&st=0 we posted about an announcement it was only local to our cong.

  however we have found out that there is going to be an announcement sometime in september and it is supposed to be shocking.

  just when i thought my family couldnt be more discordant and dysfunctional because of the jws, we now have the element of some of the nonjws getting sick of the jws who are shunning the exjws and the nonjws are now shunning the jws for shunning!

  my husband of 19 years is a jw, one of his sisters is a jw as is her husband and all of her kids, and so one mentally challenged sister also baptized.

  these are just 3 things that i was shocked to learn when i was in the org.

  they may not seem like big things to some, but they are to me.. 1. speakers at the d.a.

  had food catered to them.

  HOW WOULD A WITNESS ANSWER THIS?

  ok, i responded on another thread about a blood issue, but i suddenly thought of a new point of view that, as far as i know, hasn't been touched on yet (i apologize if it has been) and i wanted to get your opinion.

  as we all know, the governing body refuses blood transfusions based on the scriptures that talk about pouring the blood of a dead animal "out on the ground" because the life is in the blood, yada, yada yada.

  they have stated openly that there is no difference between eating the blood of a dead animal, and taking blood from a live human, even to save a life.
