  I don't believe in any sort of psychic power that can affect an external object (movement, temperature, etc).

  But the subconscience can move a planchette.

  They also described some of the 'mystereous forces' at work.

  Ideomotor effect. It's also what makes dousing rods "work."

  So every time, in every case, this is why the planchette moves?

  It's pretty useless when someone is alone.

  Funny you should bring this up.

  One of my family members tried using it by himself and the planchette started moving. He was so frightened he threw it off his lap and would never use it again.

  To this day, he will not, and this was 30 years ago.

  I am seething with anger over this latest example of how the U.K has become a Police State

  Wobble,

  Yes, I have seen others, but this one seemed particularly "over the top".

  Unfortunately, I think this will also be the order of the day for the U.S.A.

  pass me not, o gentle savior is a song we used to sing with such fervor in our little church.. i always thought it referred to the blind man who kept calling out to jesus to have mercy on him.

  (matthew 20, mark 10, and luke 18).. however, i've learned that fanny j. crosby, the woman who penned the lyrics, had genesis 18 in mind.
