i've been a member of this fourm for quite sometime although i rarely post.
i do however, have my story posted on shauns' site http://jwfiles.com/jws-leaving/william.htm i also wrote and article for that site comparing the prophecies of 1925 and 1975. http://jwfiles.com/1925-1975.htm just a little background on me: i served as an elder in philadelphia.
i was the cong sec.
I've always had this question: It the WTS owns the assembly hall, then where are the expenses? They do not provide food. All the workers are volunteers, so why does it cost so much to have a C.A.?

wife, a member of the jehovahs witnesses, sued watchtower society and church elders alleging that the church and the individual defendants failed to render assistance to her when she was consistently and repeatedly beaten by her husband over a period of 20 years; actions for intentional and negligent infliction of emotional distress and for breach of fiduciary duty time barred; limitation periods not tolled by the doctrine of fraudulent concealment; church teaching that members were not to resort to lawsuits did not postpone the running of the limitations periods until plaintiffs expulsion from the church; however, the claim for breach of implied contract to protect plaintiff so long as she was obedient to the church was timely because the alleged breach could be considered to have occurred on the date of plaintiffs expulsion from the church; but the claim for breach of implied contract was barred by the first amendment case # 801 (10/00) (conn. super.
ct.) (for collateral proceeding in the same case, see index entry in the next paragraph) .
wife, a member of the jehovahs witnesses, sued watchtower society and church elders alleging that the church and the individual defendants failed to render assistance to her when she was consistently and repeatedly abused by her husband for nearly 20 years, but counseled her to continue to endure in the marriage.
So, stay in the marriage and get beat, or leave and get d.f.ed? What a choice.

i havent been to a convention since..................99?
the last few i went to i remember a lot of people commenting on how hard it was to visit with other witnesses.
a lot of people were disgruntled and irritated about it.. the convention doors didnt open till about an hour before the session started... so you had time to find your seat and get your kids settled.. no time to visit others... also our seats were assigned.. we were told to sit with our congregation in a specific section that we were assigned to clean.. so we were just around our regular congregation.
The tickets for the 1980's were also in 10 cent increments, but if I remember correctly, the last time they had those they were orange or red.

i was visiting some friends from out of state that had moved there from my hometown.
when one of the friends that was from their cong.
( pioneer ) said they wanted to get their time started before are 4 hour trip to a national park walked into a supermarket to hand out a tract.
How about the pioneers that no one ever sees out in service? I've heard a few whispers about a couple of those.
I posted this story once, but I'll tell it again: I knew a pioneer that used to start his time before the meeting for service and would include the meeting for service. When we were done in the field, he would continue his time throughout the day by talking to someone or handing out literature every place he went. Gas stations, hot dog stands, whatever. One afternoon I saw him at a store with his mags out in plain view for everyone to see, while he was shopping.
Here, I'm like lovely lil, trying to do everything as honestly as possible, struggling to put in legitimate time and I see this!!!!!!!
Was I the stupid one, or what?
