the anointed and their other sheep companions recognize that by following the lead of the modern-day governing body, they are in fact following their leader, christ.. what a pile of filth!!!!.

WHAT IS TAUGHT IS NOT FROM MEN
BUT FROM JEHOVAH.Yes, this is the problem......when over the years they publish something like "Vaccinations are like taking pus into the body" or the "teaching" from the 1960's of "If you are a young person you must face the fact that you will never get old in this system" and all the generation changes.....and the blood chnges, now allowing fractions.....well one could go on and on but it becomes incredulous that the teachings change but all the teachings are from God.
Yet if need be, when called on something like the "1975" fiasco, they conveniently claim that they make mistakes and are not inspired.

why I like this site
by nancy drew ini like this site (aside from the fact that we have the jw experience in common) because i have come to realize that all of you are very creative, interesting & courageous.
it takes a special person to exit the jw's.
we all of course are also very different & thats good because we can learn from each other.

JW's humble?
by donny induring my trek through the jw's i often heard talks and comments stating how witnesses were humble and meek, unlike the haughty-title loving people of the world especially christendom.
well i just received my 2010 alumni directory that covers everyone who graduated from the two high schools that were part of the district i live in.. so i spent the afternoon parusing its pages when i came across a listing for a guy who is now an elder in the congregation i used to attend.
here is how he describes himself.

Becoming an ex-JW is a humbling experience. How could you have been duped by such an obviously man-made religious cult, wasting decades of your life chasing an illusion, not preparing properly for retirement or seeing to it that your children received an education? Think back to all of the counselors, teachers, householders, fellow employees, neighbors and relatives who KNEW you were brainwashed but couldn't reach you. That is humbling.

Getting my children out
by God_Delusion inmy wife is still in and no matter what logic i show her, she still wants to continue with the cult.
for me, she's a lost cause.
i explained the 607 factor and her reaction to that was "well, that isn't important to me as i still believe, plus, there's no where else for me to go.".

lso, if logic doesn't work with her, more and better logic will make no difference. You need an emotional approach. Make life at home MUCH MORE ENJOYABLE than life at the meetings or in service. She will only be able to fight off the dissonance for so long without being forced to deal with it.
Mad Sweeney is right. Drawing a line in the sand about your children will make them pawns in a fight, and could tear your family apart. Love and patience will win more.

At last the explanation of "Generation" its in Exodus chp 6
by judi8751 inestranged hubby went to convention on sunday, he so excited "here is the explanation we have been waiting for, it makes so much sense, its to do with the tribes of israel and the overlap".

They are siblings in a spiritual sense. All brothers? The 144,000 are spiritually the 12 tribes. These are the last of the brothers that overlap in the time of the end?
If this is the explanation, then the "brothers" should overlap all the way back to the first century. Just being in "the time of the end" wouldn't mean that the rest of the "annointed" weren't part of the generation, if they are all considered siblings.

2010 District Convention - Some Thoughts on the Sunday Afternoon Session
by Olin Moyles Ghost inout of a sense of morbid curiosity, i recently attended the sunday afternoon session of the district convention.
the session consisted of a drama and the infamous "remain in the secret place of the most high" talk.
overall, i got a sense that the wts is in damage control mode because the end hasn't come yet.

No wonder the folks around you were sleeping or "zoned out" in appearance.....if these people really tried to wrap their minds around the "generation new light" their heads would be shaking and smoke would come out of their ears from brain-overload.
It is getting to the point of ludicrous.....I'll bet the speaker had to read verbatem from his notes.....he couldn't possibly explain it without doing so!
At this point, it's too bad you couldn't make like a real ghost and just disappear!

JWs pretended to be someone else at my door.
by myusername inthis is probably in the wrong section, but i couldn't decide where to put it.
i was raised a jw and i still suffer effects from that kind of upbringing.. anyway, they said they were local community volunteers and they wanted to give me something related to the community.
i didn't open the door but they put a jw tract through it.. i don't think it's right to be so devious about recruitment.

Now, Witnessess must go back repeatedly and tell the same people the "new light" each time the generation teaching changes!
I remember a Kingdom Ministry quite some years ago that warned JWs not to use wild introductions at the door such as this one, "I have a message for you from outerspace!"
I personally thought that this was hilarious and innovative!

Generation 'New Light' is Actually Working
by zoiks inas ridiculous as it seems to me and most of you, the infamous 'generation' update has every jw that i know in a tizzy.
they're all worked up about how 'exciting' it all is.
i just received a letter from my mom (she only communicates through letters now), and she brought it up - how they carefully explained it at the convention, and how it shows that we are so close to the end.. unbelievable.
