...lead to further waste and lazyness.
I fail to see how funding tuition free college at public universities and providing every man, women and child in the US with healthcare is going to lead to "further waste and lazyness."

Nope. Actually Bernie supporters (myself included), understand our tax dollars should be appropriated to programs that actually benefit us. Medicare for all would save us around 9 trillions dollars. We spend 30 billion a year on bombs for the military, spending 60 billion to send every American to college tuition free in a no brainer investment to make.
And unless you make over 250,000 your taxes won't increase. Bernie is an FDR democrat and considered a center/moderate by pretty much every other countries standards. The US has swung so far right many are misinformed and don't understand this.
If you don't vote Bernie you are voting against your best economic interests pure and simple. Asher Edelmen, the real life person behind the Gordon Gekko character from "Wall Street" agrees his policies would be best for the US: http://usuncut.com/politics/gordon-gekko-sanders/ Over 170 of the nations top economists have come out in support of his proposals. Supply side economics > trickle down every day of the week.
[some words i corrected for spelling & grammer] .
"i have been studying the bible for almost 20 years....after graduating in history and science comparing to the the bible, i have have come to to the conclusion that the bible cannot give you any reason to believe in it at all.
so i wonder, why do you use the bible as facit to your believes?
That's exactly more reason NOT to believe the Bible. The Earth isn't a circle it's a sphere. There is a word for sphere and whoever wrote the verse said circle. The Bible also refers to the Earth as having 4 corners. So the Bible describes the Earth as a round square. Yeah great book to base your life onYou said the bible cannot give you ANY REASON to believe it, well the bible says that the Earth is a circle, do you not believe that?
evolution works by the non-random selection of random mutation.
natural selection accumulates favourable random chance events.. the experiment that was began on 24th february 1988 on e coli bacteria by dr richard e. lenski and his team is surely one of the clearest demonstrations of the power of this process.. e.coli is one of the commonest bacterium on earth, there is around 100 billion, billion of them in the world at any given time and around 1 billion of them in your gut right now.
most of the time they cause no problem, until a new strain wreaks havoc on its host's digestive system.. if we assume the probability of a particular gene mutating to be 1 in a billion, the size of the population is so high that just about every gene in the e.coli genome will have mutated somewhere in the world every day.
i propose that we make pintrest accounts and start openly challenging this crap.. .
seriously.... any suggestions?
this crap cannot be left unchallenged.
so i was just reading a thread and came across a completely new jw 'rule', that of not being allowed to go fishing!..
at least it's new to me as i always enjoyed fishing as did others in my old congregation.
anyone else heard of this or had this imposed on them in they're jw lives?.
i know marriage is tough and it takes work on both parts.
we have been together for 27 years.
the last eight have been involved with this cult.
Don't give up on her. My wife was very upset and threatened divorce when I came clean about not wanting to be a witness. Fast forward roughly 2 years later and my wife is now awake. This doesn't always happen but there are success stories.
I found when I stopped trying to deconvert her and I just let the cults tactics work for themselves she started noticing things on her own. I had planted those seeds and her natural reason ability did the rest.
did any of you guys disregard the wt recommendations and pursue a career.
if you answer "yes": was your journey easy?
are you happy with the end result?
I got my associates and it was the best decision I ever made. I was sick of the typical janitorial witness work and I was in my early 20's so I went for it and graduated last year. It opened my eyes to a whole other world and helped me wake up because it made you realize your little JW world view is not all there is. I got a little resistance from my wife at the time and some raised brows from one in the hall but nothing to bad. And it didn't hurt that my degree helped me get into a new field and am now making better money than I ever would have otherwise.
I'm now awake and haven't attended a meeting in 2 years and in the last 6 months my wife has gone from Watchtower defender, though she wasn't attending meeting either, to waking up herself. She sees the hypocrisy and much of the org makes her sick though I think she still believes some of the core teaching and is a believer of sorts. But she constantly is making remarks about things wrong with the Org and even the Bible. Oh and she is now attending college :)
(matthew 25:31-40) .
.when the son of man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit down on his glorious throne.
32 all the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate people one from another, just as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
has anyone here gone nuclear on their spouse and, all of a sudden, came out in the open as a jw opposer?.
by this i mean, sitting them down and saying: i no longer want to be a jw anymore, do not want to go to meetings or preaching anymore!
and, what has happened in the relationship after that?.
