How many times have you heard that phrase. When I was a JW I heard that phrase alot. It had a mystical sort of quality about it. I really did not know what it meant though. I guess the WTS were trying to get folks to go to bethel. If you lived east of bethel then I guess they would say "go back west to where the need is greater". I wonder if the WTS says that anymore as it must be old hat by now.

Possable "New Light"?
by 2112 inwith all the "buzz" around the up-comming october anouncment, i have a question.
i have thought about this for a long time, is it possable that they would tell all those married to non-witnesses to divorce their mates?
it could be for the reason of "unevenly yoked", and/or keeping spritually clean.

That could become a policy as a little leaven ferments the whole lump. How about D'fing masterbaters?
If that happened then I guess every elder would get D'fd

No Hope for the Handicapped/Sick/Retarded
by KennyC inout of all the large religious orgs' in the u.s., the only one that i have seen without some sort of special transportation arrangements for the infirm is the watchtower society.
not only that, the distributive help that normally comes in the form of monetary funds is nil.
this they ignore although it was a service that was appointed by the apostles for the sake of widows.

The JW in Vancouver area no longer go to the Pacific Colliseum because it is too expensive to rent. This force the dubs to drive an extra 100 miles to Chilliwak where there is a second class convention center. The JW have not been to the P.C. for over 4 years now

quote its a dirty habit because it makes a person dwell on unwholsome thoughts end quote For your information it is a dirty habit becasue that is what ORGANized religions portrays it to be. Religion is behind this deceit because masterbation would not increase a religious ORGANizations MEMBERship. As for dirty thoughts how in the hell else does one have a wet dream you dope! If masterbation was practised more, the world would be a better place to live in as world populations would be in control. Right now world populations are destroying the earth with global warming and the like. There is only one tenth of an acre per person in China that is not enough land to support a flea. If you took away China's imports there would be anarchy

From the JW grape vine I have heard that in 1975 there was a similar large tract campaign. Just a rehash of scare tactics to bolster membership. What other gags are there?

I remember when I was a JW kid. At a particular meeting my 12 year old friiend was sitting beside me. When you are 12 anything is funny so he gets a boner and there is a bible on his lap. By flexing his dick he managed to move his bible up and down. This sent me into hysterics which of course disturbed the meeting. I think the talk on mast.erbation brought that on

What is the big deal about 1914 anyway?
by grey matters inwhat is the big deal with the wts about 1914 anyway?
it wasn't their date to begin with.
they got it from the millerites/second advendtists.

That is a good point Gary, that the great crowd(multitude) was identified IN 1935 with the big talk by rutherford. That crowd of 1935 is all dead now . So where is the great crowd?? Do we need yet another identification date or did rutherfords talk set up a perpetual identification so that any group of persons could qualify as the great crowd?

A True Scholar In Our Midst, Leolaia
by Skoshi inher posts for a very long time were overflowing with an obvious scholarship.
i have avidly read her posts and have tucked away as much as my much smaller brain could be forced to take in.
i'm sure others have openly expressed their admiration and appreciation for her, but i would like to do so here.

I wanted to know more about the phrase "millions now living will never die" and how the WTS changed the meaning of that phrase over the years. Well here is Leo's reply
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/11/114538/2004838/post.ashx#2004838
as can be seen, this is not simply cut and paste, but shows some true originality and depth of understanding.
This is just an example as other members of JWD are skilled in this art as well.

The following quote is from http://www.tektonics.org/guest/500cares.html
Quote
Did you know that the Watchtower’s first two presidents, Charles Taze Russell and Judge Rutherford, who were alive in 1914 never taught that Jesus returned in 1914. Did you know that Russell taught Jesus returned in 1874 and that Rutherford taught the same up until 1929 when he changed the second coming to 1914. Why did they not have these “eyes of understanding”? Did the disciples in Acts 1:11 recognize that Jesus was ascending to heaven on that day or did they figure it out 16 years later? Why did the Watchtower leaders teach for over 50 years of their history what they now consider to be a false date (1874) for Christ’s return?
How come all the Jehovah’s Witnesses leaders who were supposed to have “eyes of understanding” in 1914 not see Jesus return in 1914 but insisted he returned in 1874?
End quote
and another quote from the same site
Quote
First Watchtower president and founder Charles Taze Russell taught that the door in heaven to be part of the “anointed” Class closed in 1881. Second president Judge Rutherford said that 1935 marked the last chance to be part of the “anointed” class, and everyone who becomes a JW after 1935 was part of the “great crowd”. Who was right? Russell? Rutherford? Or neither? Where in the Bible does it say the door to heaven closed in 1935??
End quote
So we see that Jesus return in 1914 is a total lie Further the date of 1935 is a total lie, that is , the door to heaven was NOT closed in 1935. Only moron brainwashed JWs believe the door was closed in 1935
So the 2 main WTS dates 191 4 and 1935 are total lies.
There are some 6 million brain dead JW that believe these two dates were given by jehoover through the governing body or FDS (same thing) and will avoid making jehoover mad by shunning family members that don't go along with the lie.

Didn't JW's do the "updating" thing with the Babylon book like the Rev book
by booker-t inmaybe some of the oldtimers might remember, but i seem to remember in the early 1980's that the wts "updated" the babylon the great book where many of the old light was thrown out.
i was a teenager but i remember studying the book again in the 80's and some jw's were upset by the changes.
if they do the same thing with the revelation grand climax book aren't they afraid that those oldtimers might get disgusted and leave the org?

I remember studying the Babylon the great has fallen-away book twice!. I heard that the material was not studied properly the first time and that some elders received some counseling from the GB on how to study this book effectively.. All in all, the babylon book was tough material to go through It managed to utterly brainwash just about every JW about the dates 1914,1918,1919,1925,1931,1935 etc. There was simply no room to question such dates at the book study. Anyone who disputed the dates were instantly D'Fd. The babylon book was on the watchtower CD but it is not there now (me thinks) I guess the WTS has down-graded the babylon book to the old literature category.
Let see, two years to study the babylon book every tuesday which eats up 3 hours of time per week.. 52 weeks in a year gives 104 weeks for a 2 year period, times 3 = 312 hours of completely wasted time and brain rot. At the very least, the babylon book will be a testimony for all time to prove that the WTS are liars.
