Now German WTS has access to Registry Office
by GermanXJW intoday, a german radio station commented on the court case won by jw in germany.
they now have to recognized as a public body which has mainly impact on taxes.. .
but the radio station also commented that now jw have access to the regitry entries of each citizen at the registry office.

In the United States all real estate transactions are public records. All someone has to do is stop by their local courthouse and they can find out where the homeowners live. In some counties, these records are on the internet.

Are the Society planning a 'Pledge of Allegiance'? IT MAY BE TRUE!
by nicolaou ini've just learned from a trusted contact at thewatchtower.org 'norris', that the society intend to put a resolution to the congregations shortly - though definately not at the 'special talk' meeting next month.. here's the scary bit.
this resolution needs to be responded to by all baptized jehovah's witnesses.
we have not been able to get hold of the wording but have been informed it is intended to provide the brotherhood with the opportunity to affirm their loyalty to jehovah and his organization.

Isn't Nisan 14 supposed to be April 23rd?
by catchthis insorry folks if i missed this somewhere before, but isn't nisan 14 supposed to line up with our current calendar on april 23rd?
i didn't go to the memorial last night so i do not know if they tried explaining this difference.
i always thought that nisan 14 was the date that they used to celebrate the memorial.

Passover starts on April 23 at sundown. The first DAY of Passover is April 24 which is on the calendar, but the Passover seder is held on April 23rd at sundown.

2 hours, 25 minutes ago LOS ANGELES - Barney Martin, a former New York City detective who went into show business and became best known for playing Jerry Seinfeld's father Morty on the comedian's hit television series, has died. He was 82.
AP PhotoMartin died of cancer Monday at his Studio City home, according to his publicist, Jennifer Glassman.
Born March 3, 1923, in the New York City borough of Queens, Martin served as a navigator in the Air Force during World War II before starting a 20-year career as a New York City police detective.
Martin showed a talent for making deputy police commissioners laugh during presentations. In the 1950s, he began writing on the side for comedy shows such as "Name That Tune" and "The Steve Allen Show."
Martin got his start in film when Mel Brooks ( news ) featured him in "The Producers" in 1968. That role launched Martin into Broadway theater, where he appeared in several musicals, including "South Pacific," "The Fantasticks," All American" and "How Now Dow Jones."
He is credited with creating the role of Roxy's unappreciated husband, Amos Hart, in the musical "Chicago."
Martin also appeared in several television series in the 1990s, including "The Tony Randall Show," "US," "Sydney" and "Zorro and Son."
In "Seinfeld," Martin was the third actor to play the part of Seinfeld's father and became the one most identified with the role of the Florida retiree.
He said at the show's wrap party in 1998: "Playing Jerry's dad was like having whipped cream on top of a mountain of ice cream."
He is survived by his wife and son. A daughter died in 2002 of cancer.

PROTEST RALLY IN ALBERTA, CANADA
by SHUNNED FATHER ini won the court hearing yesterday.
the attempt by the watchtower society to have portions of my affidavit struck down was unsucessfull.
four days have been set aside for the next court hearing, april 25, 26, 27, 28 at queens bench court house, calgary, alberta.

I hope this memorial doesnt backfire ...........
by fleaman uk inwell,ive decided to go tomorrow night after all.not to my local cong but another one in the city where i have a very good friend and a few distant family members.i dont agree with much of the orgs teachings or promotions,but i do believe in jesus and really just have a very,very powerful urge to pay my respects to him.. i have been telling my "worldly"girlfriend about the religion and naturally,she is quite interested as this was part of my life since an early age.. blow me down she really wants to come with me!so when she walks into the hall tomorrow and gets a very warm welcome it will possibly shock her,after some of the stranger stories i have told her about the faith(vague stories including no xmas,disfellowshipping,no after school activities etc).i have told her that the welcome she receives will be warm and imho genuine too.she is quite a spiritual person anyway and will enjoy the occasion.. my worry would be that she will enjoy it too much and go to a follow up.it is quite probable.she has never had anything to do with jw,s before, till going out with yours truly .. i,m interested in your comments?.

Get her the book Releasing The Bonds by Steven Hassan. This book explains "love bombing" and other tactics the JW's and religious cults use to gain trust and membership. If she had read the book prior to going to the Memorial, it would be interesting for her to see everything Steve Hassan and other counter cult counselor describe really at play in the Kingdom Hall. Since the Memorial is tomorrow night, she won't have time to read it, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't read it at all. The book speaks of some of the behavorial traits and psychological problems that ex-members face and at the very least, she'll understand your feelings a little more. It also teaches the reader how to determine if a group is mind controling and could prevent her from getting involved. Since this book is written for all controling groups, it doesn't specifically pick on the JW's.
Maybe you could find an article on www.freeminds.org about love bombing and she could read it prior to the Memorial.
