For me it is because I still have to be associated with the lot.
Also the apparent decline and blind antics of the Society are great validity for those who left everything behind.
i'm just curious how some of the people who have left the orginization for years and years can continually keep up with all the happenings in the orginization?
i've been gone about 6 years now at most i go through phases of either wanting to know or not caring, usually it's like a week or two of interest followed by months of not caring at all.
i'm just curious how you all can do it?

Consider me an agnostic.
The argument of paranormal activity has no bearing on my belief in a "God". I do not discount the concept of mulitple dimensions that we cannot measure or experience consciously.
Also the possibility of alien life is widely accepted by atheists. If an alien race with advanced technology were to meddle in human affairs, could this not be perceived as paranormal?
Arthur C. Clark said: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. Or, dare I say, God?
You say:
"If you have no belief in God, then explain, why things that cannot be seen or explained with the naked eye exists in this world?
Umm, because the naked eye is a limited and inaccurate sensory device. I guess infrared and ultraviolet is proof of God because I cannot see it with my naked eye?
ok. we have that "special" campaign ahead.....i still don't know how i will avoid participating....my family is all excited and will put the pressure on.....i might get my 50 tracts and toss them somewhere......it will look suspicious that i finished after an hour and "placed" 50 pcs in a territory that is closed to jw.....anyway.
here a few thoughts that crossed my mind:.
everybody at my hall is all excited about this special tract and i can't get the nice conversations i usually have with a few going, because of the excitement.
R6Laser: Why are we getting all riled up over a simple tract campaign the WTS is doing?
Just reporting what JWs are riled up about. Personally I agree with you--no big deal. I think that the orginnal poster also agrees:
RedPill2006: My viewpoint: LAME! This couldn't be LAMER.......

I also have heard similiar comments.
My area is actually quite religious, and the opinion among JWs here is that they will cause some "persecution" for themselves...at least an angry backlash from the religious pro-war hawks they met.
i have just decided to start posting, as has another elder "doubting brother" .
i guess that there are perhaps many out there who wish to post but are perhaps nervous.
well that is quite understandable.
Thank JWFreak for the topic. I still maintain as an "active" JW.
I remember the first time I signed up on this site, and since, every emotion...
so what do you think he is scheming by his looks?.

"i will choke every single apostate on jwd if that is the last thing i do" - teddy jackarse.. .
Funny, no matter what I do, I can't remove the red eyes...
i'm talking about the new posters, like kitten whiskers, who started posting today (hope this works: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/120817/1.ashx).
and it seems like we're getting a few like this nearly every day.
people who were raised jws, really worry that they are doing the right thing in leaving, yet who have been made to feel not good enough by the wts, who felt they never measured up, who struggled with it, but came to realize that what they'd been brought up to believe was just not the truth.. the same stories are told over and over again, and they come from sincere, good people - not whiny, fault-finding apostates like the rest of us riffraff around here!
The debates with ThirdWitness also helped me to see the folly of the Societys stance on things
I Trolls.
there is a public groundswell of support within the united states of america, inc. for the us to withdraw from the un.
while this departing of one-half of the seventh king (and the "king of the south") could be prophetically spun into a harmless twist and twang on an old saw, the general consensus seems to be that the un would have great difficulty maintaining orderliness within its ranks.
also, there is a strong argument to be made that without us financial backing the un would fold due to a shortage of funding.. although it isn't particularly likely, it is certainly a possibility.
Auld: All of their end times prophecies seem inextricably linked to the fate of the UN.
Yeah, and the same could be said about the "generation", once...
Revise and new lighting. The rank and file will be thrilled, another fallout on the same scale as 1995 (generation), and the org moves on.
However, the Society's MO has been to replace old specific doctrine with new ambiguous "fluff"--I don't know how else to describe it. For example see the 2006 "new light" regarding Revelation 22:1 or the new understanding of the "generation".
To me it seems that the teaching has become more adapted to surviving date stamps, at the expense of becoming outrightly bland.
im interested in hearing what your personal reaction would be if (i say if because probably 99.9% here believe this will never happen) all the religions of the world were to be suddenly banned/shut down/decommissioned/liquidated/dismembered/etc.. by the political powers of the world.
what would your first post here say?
would it change your view of jehovah...of the "org"?
I would have to become an enemy of the state under such a government. The situation you descibe would make worldwide Nazi domination look like a tea party.
My opinion of JWs would not change, as their prediction of such an event would be eclisped by such a religious backlash that their "foregleams" would be immediated disproved thereafter.
I understand your premise, "what if JWs are right." But the reality of such an event so overwhelming that JWs fail to see past their own noses on this.
