Why such boring & canned answers at the WT Study?
by navytownroger inback in th 1980s, the answers at the watchtower study & the book study seemed much more interesting.
more personal experiences that somehow related to the question being asked.
nowadays it seems all answers are just repeated from the text, or consist of reading a bible verse.

Resurrection Hope - People in the Future who think they have lived before
by VM44 inaccording to the watchtower, a resurrected being is a body that has placed within it the memories and attributes of a person who had lived before.. the "life force" is transferred to the body to bring it alive.
also according to the watchtower, the "life force" is impersonal and contains no personality.
it is like electricity in that it is an actuating force.. ok, so in the future there will be billions of people with memories of having lived on the earth.

For those who still think the WT is teaching a Biblical teaching...remember there has to be a connection.
In the Bible, the body is the connection. "All those in the memorial tombs will get up" Literal meaning of resurrection=raise up the body. This applies to Lazarus, and exemplified in the Judeo-Christian tradition of preserving the body.
Otherwise the connection is the spirit and/or soul that links to the next life, either in heaven or future physical body.
JWs disregard both connections and thus sever any ties to the previous self. In this way they are the only belief system to do this.
What about the teaching that Jehovah remembers everything about you? That fails as cloning. God could make as many copies of you or only one, but that person would not be you--no connection, not the original etc.
Trivia challenge for those still in: Discuss which is the more accurate term for JWs: "resurrection" (raising up) or "reincarnation" (new body).
Even more interesting is the fact that JWs worship a clone as King--that's right, Jesus (the original) is gone and a copy reigns in his place!

People get themselves out, when they give permission to themselves to give up the false hopes of the WT. That's really the hook, the promise of everlasting life, justice, resurrection, etc.
Before that release a person becomes aware of the numerous fallacies of JW belief, the sorted history, the botched interpretations, and the clumsy PR skills of the Governing Body. But even with all knowledge, many JWs stay faithful for one very reason...
"Where else would we go?"
For the same reason battered women stay with their abusers...
I believe it is important to motivate JWs with damning knowledge about their religion, but without attacking their ego. JWs are a proud lot, they have the Truth after all! That's why the exit has to be a "self" discovery.
