  Apostasy from JWs? That's not what the Bible says...hmmmm

  i have been called an apostate in the past week by my sil, my stepdad, and my soon to be ex-wife.

  it didn't help that apostasy was featured in this past weeks wt study, a point my ex was quick to remind me.... .

  i have done a quick search in the wt cd rom to see how many times the word apostate or derivatives appear (i searched "aposta*").. .

  The Watchtower routinely quotes Job 13:16 as an example of how to deal with apostates:

  Rather, imitate God’s response to apostates. Job said of Jehovah: “Before him no apostate will come in.”—Job 13:16.

  But the glaring contradiction is that Jehovah does tolerate apostate association...in the very same book of the Bible!

  (Job 1:7-8) . . .Then Jehovah said to Satan: “Where do you come from?” At that Satan answered Jehovah and said: “From roving about in the earth and from walking about in it.” 8 And Jehovah went on to say to Satan:. . .

  the very first apostate, Satan.

  Religulous with Bill Maher…I just saw it

  i dont post much at all any more but i had to mention this, i just got back from seeing religulous and cant remember the last time i laughed so hard.

  it was great!!!!!!

  close-minded religious people should save their money and not go see this movie but instead give your money to the next tv evangelist or street magician you see.

  The fact that JWs didn't even register as a blip on the radar might offend some JWs who feel that their beliefs are of earth shattering significance.

  Well, that's because this is the beginning of the attack of Babylon the Great. Satan doesn't turn the world on JWs until thay are the last religion standing.

  I know that because the WT tells me so.

  Thanks for the positive reviews!

  The banner you see above is carefully constructed to give plenty of Witness-friendly images...but with slight modifications.

  The Kingdom Hall stage has the 2009 year-text, but a huge WT logo emblazoned on the wall (not standard practice of course).

  The hall seems benign except for the specter of V at the podium

  The "Watchtower" menu says "Watch This" instead.

  All designed to show a pun on the JW-world...and that we mean business. This is an information war afterall.

  Issue of universal sovereignty not settled until after 1000 year reign!

  the watchtower soc and others say that the bible teaches that jehovah is allowing time to pass so that evidence can build up to prove that man cannot live and govern himself independently of god.

  the argument is made that god has tolerated wickedness so that the evidence can gradually accumulate against satan's claim that god's might does not necessarily give him the right to rule and that man can rule himself successfully without god's direct governance.

  when armageddon breaks out, it is said that the evidence will be conclusive that man could not rule himself independently of god and the devil's claims were false.. the analogy is put forward that this drama is being played out like some great universal court case in heaven, with judges sitting examing evidence being presented to assess the devil's claims.

  yadda is correct! Let's see how Jehovah own prophecy proves a dismal approval rate according to JWs:

  Pre-flood: Humans are eating, drinking and marrying, only because of God's defecting angels is there violence on the earth.
  God's Response: Destroy all humans except for 8.

  Postflood: Human's first attempt at organised government, 'there is nothing that was impossible for them.'
  God's Response: Confuse their languages and scatter the people.

  Sodom and Gomorrah: Cities filled with evil humans with preverse practices, 'not 10 righteous men.'
  God's Response: Save only 4 people, wife of Lot killed for turning around, Lot and 2 daughters have druken incestouos orgy immediately after.

  Armageddon: Most of world population to be condemned to everlasting death, including 70 million babies born every year.
  God's Response: Save only about 7 million JWs, if that.

  End of 1,000 year reign: After resurrecting most of humans ever to die in history for a life perfect health and government, so many rebel against God that their number is 'greater than the sands of the sea.'
  God's Response: Save the minority, possibly the greatest slaughter ever.

  All to prove God has the right to rule? Sounds like a dictator culling the dissenters.

  "Grizzle estimated that some conventions attract as many visitors as members." Yeah, right.

  "No offerings are collected during the conventions, which include lectures and Bible dramas." So misleading. Contribution boxes are placed throughout traffic areas and are staffed with attendants.

  If someone puts money in a box during the program, isn't that true, "offerings are collected during the conventions"??

  Me thinks Gerald Grizzle is in the business of mis-information.
