  "Are the rules that hard to follow?"

  often i hear jws claim that people leave the borg because they cannot follow the rules, implying that anyone who leaves lacks character, self control, and/or moral values.. often i hear jwd posters--me included--say the myriad of rules in the borg is one of (not the only) reason they would not follow the org.

  Impossible to follow! The rules change from day to day, from Elder to Elder and from Cong to Cong. It's rather like walking on a Jelly (Jello)!!

  I gave up in 1994 after a big blow up over who can read at the book study!! Never been to a meeting since!!

  They are/were so secretive you wouldn't know what they had. Who are the public anyway? Usually they are charming to the public on the service, but once they are in the KH, then things change big time!

  a few years ago (circa 2002-3) a letter was read to all u.k. congregations, it had to be read twice, in essence it is the following item from the jw media site:.

  HELP PLEASE

  A few years ago (circa 2002-3) a letter was read to all U.K. congregations, it had to be read TWICE, in essence it is the following item from the JW media site:

  This is the second paragraph:

  "When any one of Jehovah's Witnesses is accused of an act of child abuse, the local congregation elders are expected to investigate. Two elders meet separately with the accused and the accuser to see what each says on the matter. If the accused denies the charge, the two elders may arrange for him and the victim to restate their position in each other's presence, with elders also there. If during that meeting the accused still denies the charges and there are no others who can substantiate them, the elders cannot take action within the congregation at that time."

  Please does anyone have a copy or remember the contents?

  Are there any circumstances where the above paragraph would NOT be followed?

  often times, having spent so many years as being one of jehovah's.

  witnesses, the question crosses my mind, "how much truth was.

  The Crowd at Mill Hill Bethel (U.K.) might be reasonably honest But my wife's local congregational elders are the most blatant liars that I have met in 73 years on this planet.

  They can lie when answering items in the KH and in talks, I wonder if they are taught lying at the Elder's schools?

  WHY WAS THE ROTATION OF THE PRESIDING OVERSEER DISCONTINUED?

  way back one man was the presiding overseer of the congregation.

  then in the ' 70s they started the arrangement of the body of elders w/one being the po.

  during this time they started w/the practice of rotating the entire boe so that each member would be serving in a different capacity - theocratic ministry school overseer, field overseer, literature overseer, secretary, etc.

  When they rotated positions each elder had to learn something new. They made so many c**k u*s it was better to let one elder do one job for as long as possible.
