  No love bombing from me. I hung out with a select few and that was it. If someone new cam to the Hall I would speak and move on.

  Before You Actually Stopped Meetings, How Many HATED Being There?

  when i listen to anything at the meetings, it is with a critical eye.

  i really can't stand going, especially today.

  did you feel that the meetings were grating and extremely irritating, just before you stopped going altogether?

  The meetings were fine before I started having doubts. But once I came to this site and Randy's site it was over for me. The meetings were just so stupid and boring and meaningless. I even had one sister come up to me and ask "are you having problems at home or on the job because you look like you don't want to be here." Boy was she ever right.

  I still go to some meetings now and its hard to sit there and listen to all that crap now that I know the real deal.

  help me please... i just got diane wilson's book awakening of a jehovah's witness and i can't put the damn thing down.

  i'm reading while i eat while i'm in bed while i'm at work in the bathroom!!

  Help me please... I just got Diane Wilson's book Awakening of a Jehovah's Witness and I can't put the damn thing down. I'm reading while I eat while I'm in bed while I'm at work In the bathroom!! Its crazy!!!!. Must be the work of demons. What other reason could there be. This book is absolutley fantastic. If you haven't already, get this book. Its a great read. Next to COC this is THE BOOK.

  Well gotta go read some more.

  there is this funny anecdote i remember from my jw days that i would like to tell:.

  in the mid seventies there was a french movie released over here about .

  the story of david & goliath,and some jw's of our congregation wanted to see it.. now this movie of which i forgot the title was nothing special but as is usual .

  I can remember back in the 70's when I was a teen. This pioneer sister said she walked out of the movie Airplane. Can you belive that. A classic!!! One of the funniest movies of all time. I didn't want to tell her I had seen it 3 times already.

  Also there was talk going around the Hall of not watching the movie Alladin. Because of all the magic and the Genie and blah blah blah. But the kicker is brothers saying not to watch Toy Story. Why you ask? Because the toys come to life. Must be under demon influence.

  All true..I can't make this stuff up.

  More extreme witnesses

  a recent thread about "bad" music groups reminded me of when i was growing up.

  my mom went through my record collection, and literally scratched with a nail all the "bad" songs on the record.

  in some cases, i was lucky , fortunate to keep one or two songs on an album.. sure enough, years later, as a fan of music, i kept many old albums, and going through them i saw how many scratches were on the records.

  With me it was always music. I came home from work one day and found my mother going through my LPs and throwing whatever SHE thought was offensive into a great big garbage bag. Now I was a serious collecter and had alot of music and she through it all away. And of course I had to just stand there and say nothing while she did it.(That was because of my good JW/Southern upbringing).

  Fast forward to many years later I come to visit with wife and children. I have a Prince T-Shirt she didn't like. While I was out visiting friends I come back to find it in the trash. But this time I took it out and I still have it to this day. Talk about extreme.

  i always found it funny that jws hated pop groups with a passion.

  here's some groups, that i was always being had a go at for listening to, or told that they shouldnt be listened to...

  guns n roses - for sexist and viloent lyrics.

  Led Zepplin..That damn Stairway to heaven song.

  Gladys Knight back in the day she was on the Buddah label. Can't have that in your home.
