  Service talk on changes at Bethel, layoffs, spirit of urgency

  last week an elder who has served in bethel gave the service meeting talk, which referred to the front page of the sep km (which i don't yet have) on the governing body's letter to all publishers.. he started by saying that "drastic times call for drastic measures" - bethel was going through periods of rapid change.. he referred to a symposium given by brother jaracz and splane last december, where they tried to brush off the layoffs saying everyone had to keep "up with jehovah's celestial chariot".

  bethelites were being reassigned to the field, and this would be difficult for them.

  some in bethel who were being reassigned had been there 20 or 30 years.

  this was such a sad exhange and just shows how unnatural this bogus rule by the wbts is.. i see my moms name on the caller id and i immediately pick up.

  (keep in mind we live 2 blocks apart).

  my mom says julia?, and i say no mom its me, you must have dialed the wrong number.. mom: oh, i'm sorry, how are you?

  I AM SO VERY SORRY YOU HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS SUNNING WITH YOUR MOTHER? HOW HEARTBREAKING IT MUST BE FOR YOU.

  THE ROLE WAS REVERSED FOR ME, MY DAUGHTER WASN'T ALLOWED TO TALK TO ME FOR 10 YEARS AND AFTER EVERY EFFORT ON MY PART TO CHANGE HER MIND. I CRIED ALL THE TIME, WISHING I COULD JUST HOLD HER IN MY ARMS. MY TEARS TURNED TO ANGER AND I WENT AFTER HER, IT TOOK TWO YEARS, BUT I GOT HER.

  IT SOUNDS LIKE SHE LOVES YOU VERY MUCH, AND I AM SURE IT WILL EVENTUALLY TURN OUT OK FOR YOU. MY HEART IS WITH YOU.

  THIS IS MY MISSION IN LIFE, TO USE MY BOOK TO HELP EXPOSE' THEM THROUGH THE NEWS MEDIA AND TALK SHOWS.

  THANK YOU LADY LEE FOR REMINDING US !!!!!!

  I remember very well in 1983, when my husband and I resigned, how utterly lonely I felt, you have to start all over again in acquiring friends. Not knowing why I so depressed all the time, and that I was going post-traumatic stress. When we resigned, we left for many good reasons, but it took many years to find out this org. was actually a cult, and this is what happens to people when they leave Cults.

  For me, this is one of the top reasons why a discussion board like this is so important, ex-JWs can come here and not feel alone, and learn so much more.

  There are many boards out there, I personally feel this is one of the BEST !!!!

  i've been lurking here and reading for a couple of months now.

  i was also a jw for a few years but got myself dfed when i started asking difficult questions, wouldn't stop asking them, and kept pointing out how the wts didn't make any sense.

  i am an unrepentent rebellious one who was warned and publically reproved until finally i finally had it out with the elders and they showed me the door.

  Judicial committee experiences.

  recently ive been doing a lot of research on judicial committees, as my friend is currently going through one, as mentioned here: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/118972/1.ashx

  i just posted an update.

  one thing ive noticed in my research, is that there is no scriptural support to back up the judicial committee system.

  YES, WE NEED TO KNOW ALITTLE BIT MORE INFORMATION, IF YOU DON'T FEEL COMFORTABLE 

  IN TELLING US WHAT HE IS UP BEFORE THE COMMITTEE MEETING FOR, THAT IS FINE,

  MAYBE YOU CAN SAY WHETHER IS IT REAL SERIOUS OR NOT.

  THE OUTCOME PRETTY MUCH DEPENDS ON THE KIND OF MEN THAT ARE ON THE JUDICIAL 

  COMMITTEE, SOME ARE VERY SINCERE AND LOVING AND SOME ARE JUST THE OPPOSITE.

  MY HUSBAND WAS AN ELDER FOR 15 YEARS, AND HE TOLD ME OF SOME HORROR STORIES OF THE 

  THE ATTITUDES SOME ELDERS HAD, LIKE SHOWING NO COMPASSION.

  AS MENTIONED BY THE ABOVE COMMENTS, ONE OF THE MAIN THINGS THE ELDERS LOOK FOR

  IS HUMILITY AND REPENDENCE.

  NEED ADVICE ON FAKING A REINSTATEMENT

  a friend of mine who is df'd is seriously considering trying to get reinstated in order to have his family back in his life.

  this is not an easy decision because he's fully aware that this isn't "the truth", but the pain of being excluded from normal family relations is really tearing him.

  he has two choices: either move away from his family and try and start a new life, or bite the bullet, try and get reinstated and then do the fade.

  I MIGHT ADD.....

  When raising my children, they alway knew I never lied to them...ever, so this was why I was sucessful with my daughter, she knew I never lied to her. Now after she resigned, she knew why I lied, and loved me for it.
