Thanks Blondie, now I know this study inside and out and I'll be ready to comment. LOL.
My brother just asked me if I forgot what the Watchtower says about chatting online. :)
who do the sons and daughter-in-laws represent (did they have children before the flood)?.
what does the ark represent?.
(2 peter 2:5) the true god gave righteous noah explicit instructions on how to build an ark for the preservation of life through a global flood.

one of the things we are studying is how the bible is god's inspired and faithful word.
a paragraph mentioned how we should really study the bible with the aid of their book if we really appreciate the ransom.
at least nobody responded with such words, but instead we should study the bible.. i've got a question, in regards to the passage "but of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, neither the son, but the father only".
Thanks everyone, especially UnDisfellowshipped. That was very insightful. I suppose this reasoning also applies to the who the Creator is. In some scriptures it specifically says the Son is the uncreated creator. I'm liking this site more :)
jwfacts I probably misread your message. Something I've learned is to let scripture interpret scripture. God reveals himself in three persons. I don't know how blinded I was and felt sorry for all those 'Christians'.

This is about the only logical question the WT offers? Any ideas?
hey everyone, i've been examining my faith and found it doesn't stand up to biblical theology.
its going to be hard since a lot family and friends will very likely repudiate me.
i have taken some steps to introduce topics to my family that will get them to analyze the wt teachings.
It was creepy because I did not have a foundation for my beliefs. Even the Watchtower contradicts their Bible NWT. Trying to live consistently with scripture was difficult.
Now I can follow Jesus according to who he said he was. His words are more poignant and meaningful.
reading this scripture was important to my original willingness a couple of years ago to reconsider my religion.... john said to him: teacher, we saw a certain man expelling demons by the use of your name and we tried to prevent him, because he was not accompanying us.
39 but jesus said: do not try to prevent him, for there is no one that will do a powerful work on the basis of my name that will quickly be able to revile me; 40 for he that is not against us is for us.
[mark 9:38 40, nwt].
Thanks, that makes so much sense!
I have never heard of a response from the WT regarding
"I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men: for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth." 1 Timothy 2:1-4.
We are to pray for our government leaders! This is good in the eyes of God. One more reason why I know the WT does not have the truth.

Hi Confession, that does go against WT doctrine. How would it fit in with Jesus claiming he was the way, the truth, and the life? If others were expelling demons, but denying Christ, wouldn't they be against Jesus?
Hey Warlock, what's that about Peter's angel?
these are just 3 things that i was shocked to learn when i was in the org.
they may not seem like big things to some, but they are to me.. 1. speakers at the d.a.
had food catered to them.
I was surprised to hear that after every Memorial, the brothers would likely eat the bread and drink the wine.

Hello Ian, thanks for clueing me in. Recently an elder approached me and tried to give me some encouragement for going out to field service. I almost came to close to mentioning all these things to him, but was wise not to. I can no longer tolerate comments such as: "God sent an angel to regain the opportunity to live forever" and practically anything regarding the "faithful and discreet slave".
Its all in God's hands. I am willing to lose my friends and family for Jesus...

Hello friends, I am happy to have your support. It helps in thinking this through. I hadn't really thought about fading away. My uncle, whom I love, is an elder. Everyone else I'm practically really close to. As you've pointed out, this does not cut off communication, which is great, but I would have a hard time being let go by everyone. I would be constantly questioned and sooner or later I'd have to share my views. My congregation is not cold, but when it does follow the guidelines, there is not much they can do.
I want to share what a far better promise we have. I just don't know how to do that without raising suspicion.
The idea of fading away sounds better though, but how can I continue doing this? By avoiding everyone/some?

Hey everyone, I've been examining my faith and found it doesn't stand up to biblical theology. Its going to be hard since a lot family and friends will very likely repudiate me. I have taken some steps to introduce topics to my family that will get them to analyze the WT teachings. For example, the crucifixion (nails instead of singular), created in God's image not God and Angels, and so on. This hasn't changed their thinking, but I pray for them to know the truth, way, and life which is found in our Lord Jesus Christ.
I have plans to disassociate myself from it in a month or so, but want to give reasons for my departure. In other words, I want to share as many people as I can (in the congregation) that the WTS is not directed by God and must come to Christ. I feel that before I start I'll be kicked out right away. Any ideas?
Hope to write some more later!
