I was welcomed in right away, no mean looks or anything like that. That's not so much different for a newcomer to a KH I suppose, the only difference was that these people took the scriptures seriously, prayed earnestly, and provided true, christian fellowship.

on the silent lambs site there is a taped call with a media person and jr. brown.
he stated that jw's don't proclaim or feel that they have special chosen ones to lead nor do they feel as though they are the sole organization to get to god.

So this organization is not directed by the Holy Spirit (active force haha)? Of course not. This needs to be heard worldwide before anyone makes the jump into the WT.
tick, tick, tick.. the governing body is dying one by one, faster now.. young people who thought they would never see themselves getting old now take meds for cholesterol, alzheimers, diabetes, blood pressure.. the end isn't here.. tick, tick, tick.. kids who walked away from the wt after being warned that they would die like a dog in the streets instead are very successful young people with real jobs, families, and assets.. empty threats stop having an effect.
apathy sets in.

I feel so bad for the deceived. I've lost friends who passed away believing this lunacy of WT and never having a relationship with Christ.

Hi Blondie, I didn't get to read your comments until after the meeting. I'm glad I did not comment. I sat right next to a guy who's been coming to our meetings, but he's currently not studying. There's no way I'm leaving him astray and confused here.
Back to the article, how can the WT tell people not to think about the future when all it does is promise a paradise earth? Its a sad state of affairs there...

The peace and tranquility is something not from me nor any human origin. The scriptures describe this as the indwelling Christ. I know my sins have been forgiven and the Father views me through the prizm of his Son.

I've recently found inner peace and tranquility in meetings, no longer afraid of what anyone else may say.
okay, growing up a jw in the 70's 80's and early 90's, all we heard about was how the generation of 1914 will not pass away,(much like witnesses in the 60's and early 70's all heard about 1975) (what a great parallel) conventions, watchtower articles, public talks, endless studies and of course every issue of the awake magazine had it on the inside cover, it was everywhere, brothers, sisters and elders were absolutely sure about this, the society constantly mentioned it in our kingdom ministry (service), it was everywhere.
then with the change in november 1995, it just kinda disappeared and became unimportant.. does the society even mention "this generation will not pass away" anymore ?????.
seems to me, that the past 10 years, it has hardly been mentioned anywhere anymore.. what do you think ??
Yes, I remember this article when it came out. I still look at all these publications which directly mention this to take place. I'm getting so tired of this. What a slap to the face for all the people that believed they would never grow old and did not prepare for the future.

Hi Hamsterbait, for those and several other reasons I don't think there was a global flood, but a flood affecting all of mankind. The introduction of racial differences lacks a natural mechanism. It very likely happened when God spread humanity across the lands (tower of babel).
I have noticed that regarding the pictures. It looks so staged for some reason. I thought today's study was particularly disgraceful towards God. No one can ever work hard enough for salvation, but being born again.

Hi Blondie, I feel time is running out. I noticed in WT magazine, they specifically jumped over Psalms 23 and 24 that have actually been fulfilled in Christ. He said it himself, I'm sure you know the scripture.
I can tell the society doesn't want anyone being on the internet...
