Blondie, you may be right about that. It just always seemed like such an inconsistent system to me, (even as a jw).

for those of you who tried to follow the no rated r movies "suggestion", what rated r movie did you run out and get after you decided the society could shove their "suggestions"?
i was dying to see both matrix movies, so they were the first i rented.

I never quite got the no rated "R" movie thing. Movie ratings are country specific, (if a given country even uses such a system). Many movies for example, that are R in the US, are PG in Canada. Does the society really have two different sets of standards depending on one's locale??? Another obviously stupid and shortsighted ruling of the Borg.

well, i've been reading, and reading, and even more reading and just dont have it in me to respond (midnight here)... so... here's whats going on with me this weekend.. i live in houston, and scheduled a trip up to austin for the weekend for a little race that we are participating in.
check it out, its pretty cool.
its called the muddybuddy and can be found @ www.muddybuddy.com.
Defiantely not doing anything as cool as paragliding. Going up about two hours away with my girlfriend to see an old buddy from high school, (haven't seen him since my sister's wedding about 7 years ago). Tomorrow, going "down the shore" as they say here in the Garden State.

.
on another thread, a co says that sites like these don't have much impact on their numbers.. personally i didn't leave because of this site or any other xjw site.. i was unhappy and felt that something was wrong and this site confirmed what i felt.. how about you?
***I was unhappy and felt that something was wrong and this site confirmed what I felt.***
Ditto.

did anyone hate that expression as much as i did?
my husband and i are separated right now, and my jw sister reminded me on the phone the other day to make sure i gave him 'his wifely due'.
that expression makes me want to barf.
Actually, I know of situations where JCs were formed just BECAUSE a separated couple had sex during the time they were separted. The BoE (or society???, don't know if this is organizationally done or not), consider the couple essentially not married during the period of separation. This really makes one see how twisted things can get, once a religion begins to make issues such as this a matter of legalism.

i was reading the "post your picture" thread for the first time today (saw the vivamus one, but not the newer one).

Sorry about the no picture thing. I'll work on that.

we brought his body home to bury on our property next to his brother cat that died about six or seven months ago.
we think he had an aneurysm and that is why he went out so fast.
he was a very sick kitty for six months.
Lil, I can only get the red X.

the thread about got me thinking about my very early childhood, back when witnesses were allowed to be social and have get togethers.
they also had a piano in every congregation i ever attended, and an older sister would always play the kingdom melody.
there was actual singing - not mindless droning and humming.
The hall I grew up in had a piano up until the time it was renovated, (1993). The PO's wife was the usual player, and sometimes, if we were lucky, we got the cute younger sister to play. (don't remember her name, it was a looong time ago when they left, husband was an @$$hole though). In the 80's it was used almost exclusively, then around 1990 or so, it was only used on special occasions.

in a recent discussion with a couple of district overseers and other heavies , the topic of the internet and apostate sites came up.
i asked what impact these were making , numerically , among jws.
the prevailing view was that , numerically , there was negligible impact.
Faders are everywhere today. That was not the case years ago. You were either in or out. The truth is, there is no telling or quantifying where a fader will go, and hence what he/she will learn on the Internet. Besides, there is almost always something else the elders will try to d/f someone for before they get them on apostacy. That would explain why the numbers are not showing any increase. The org. will implode from the inside out.

i am really sad today and miss my cat already.
he would have been 16 in november.
i found him out on the street when he was a year old.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your kitty. I also had a cat named Oreo that I had to give away recently due to my divorce, (could not have pets in my temporary apt), One of the hardest things I ever did.
