  i occasionally see mention of boe letters without any explainion of what boe means.. what does boe mean?

  Signing Off on "The NET THANG"

  i would just like to thank everyone for the excellent posts that have appeared here on this site.

  i esp would like to thank simon for making this possible.

  i sincerely believe that the "net thang" will continue to play a role in helping jw who are sincerely searching for a confirmation that all their doubts and wondering over the years was not the result of them being spiritually weak.

  University Question

  for the last year or so i've been mulling over quitting everything, becominga bum, and actually going to university.

  i work with computers, and though the pay is good (hence my still doing it), i can't shake the feeling that this isn't what i'm supposed to be doing.

  i want to do something with english.

  Go for it dude!

  It seems that you have the perfect situation for it.

  You are no doubt talented in many endeavors, like computers. But somehow I see your brain succumbing to atrophy if you dont go for your dreams.

  So be a professional student/bum. Or do it part time/long distance.

  Either way, remember Dino when you win your first Pulitzer!

  Hi Mulan and thank you for sharing this.

  When serving as an elder I called both the legal and service desk many times. Even after confirming who you were by name, congregation number, and position held within, they will NOT reveal their identity.

  I remember the need to call the legal desk in connection with an issue several times. After I told them who I was they would put the appropriate brother on the line. As a side note, I always made sure that I had another elder listening in on the conversation.

  One thing that ALWAYS struck me in dealing with brothers on those desks. While they were polite and cordial, they were objective (read cold-blooded), first and foremost. In other words his terrier-like loyalty is to the organization FIRST.

  Proceed carefully. You expressed to him that you have specific issues with the organization and discussed them on one hand. The question regarding the organization/God was a LOADED one. Sadly, it was one I was trained to ask on certain occasions.

  If push comes to shove, I would certainly threaten a media brouhaha with the local elders.

  I am saddened that you are having to undergo this added pressure.

  on "the big schmooze", a segment about "you know you haven't got a life when...".

  1st guy: you know you haven't got a life when the jws come to your door and you invite them in!.

  2nd guy: you know you haven't got a life when you invite the jws in, and they suddenly remember they've left the oven on and leave!

  well, we got a new digital camera and took it on our little jaunt to orlando, so i thought i'd share a few with you.. we went to this dinner theater where they dress up as knights and do the whole jousting and sword fighting thing.

  since we had two teenage boys with us...it was their idea of a fun evening.

  here's one of me and dana(she's the younger looking one) .
