They were told in three or four talks that NO Jehovah's Witnesses were killed in any of the 9/11 attacks, but that Jehovah preserved them (I'd love to know if that's true).I personally knew a sister in our congregation at the time that worked in world trade center who died. That is a complete lie.

What's The Dumbest JW Belief?
by minimus ini have to think believing in the blood doctrine has to be the dumbest, especially because accepting the watchtower view can kill you.

Does anyone have know where I can get a scanned copy of this watchtower. I don't have a chance to get the magazines where I'm at right now.
If anyone out there could post it or know where it is, I would be eternally grateful.

New to JW's and need to ask some questions....
by missk_ensington ini'm a new poster as well as being new to jw's (currently having bible studies) and i have been researching the religion to make sure i go into it fully understanding what it is about, and what implications it would have on my life.
i am 20, a single parent with a child and although i was brought up being told 'the truth' by my mum, only have early memroes of attending kh.
they are now trying to suck me back in but i have grave reservations and would lke everyone's opinion/view/advice.

When you are chaperoned, who acts as the chaperone? A man? A woman? Why would anyone give up their evening to sit chaperoning people?!?
I'm glad we are helping you decide what you want to do.
The chaperone is usually not a person you call up and say, "Can you chaperone us tonite?". Its more of a dating in groups of people.
If the couple wanted to hang out, they would need at least one other person to be around them.

Hi Missk and welcome. I just have one piece of advice for you - RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!
My thoughts exactly.
The fact that you are searching for more information right now about the doctrine is a good indicator that the religion is not for you. Once you are baptized, you can never question the authority.
Do not involve your child through this destructive cult. It will could ruin your relationship in the future.

JW Urban legends
by William Penwell ini was reading this on the urban legends web site.
i recall a post and some discussion earlier on this site about the john denver rumor.
the rumor of him at one of his concerts asking all jw's to leave.

I also remember hearing the John Denver story, but I also heard the same story with Pearl Jam substituted in. Apparently, Eddie Vedder asked all of the J-Dubs to leave at some concert. I remember a couple of Dubs and talking about whether or not we would still listen to Pearl Jam after that. I figured it was a boatload of shit.

How Do YOU Diet To Lose Weight?
by minimus intypically, by the end of the summer, i usually take off some weight due to good exercise and better eating.
then, in late fall and in the winter, it gets tough again.....what do you do to keep the weight off or if you've put a few pounds on how do you keep them off??
?

I lost 40 pounds by following the South beach diet 3 years ago, and have kept almost all of it off. The south beach diet book is an education on how your body reacts to certain foods not just eat this and lose weight. It was extemely educating.
