well, folks, this will be my last post here on the board.

it?s only been a short time but i feel i?ve gotten what i needed and now its time to move on.

thank you all very much for your support these last couple of months; they?ve been monumental and necessary but extremely rough as well.

Hell, I got sick of this board, especially during slagging matches, but I NEVER said I would NEVER come back again.

Doogie: OK, so you can move on; fine. I'm pleased for you and I agree that that's a healthy thing. I nearly did the same thing myself.

Except I can't quite break free from needing to know what the bastards (Org) are up to, and this is THE best place to find out.

JWs can't spell

i was reading some comments on randy's site, and lately i've been noticing a trend - a majority of jws can't spell.

i've seen them come on here and their spelling is very poor.

here's an example: what a nut case!

If somebody farts out loud on purpose when you are in the room with them; they are commenting on how they value you.

I was thinking the same thing Nancy; personally I only fart in front of very close family and friends - people whom I value very highly.

As for spelling, well, some people are a little too pedantic on this board for my taste. As a teacher I guess I should care, but as long as you can communicate so what? That is the purpose of language, to communicate. If we adequately do that then we have achieved our objective. The human mind is capable of discerning the difference between 'your' and 'you're' according to the context - it sounds the same; people often write how they speak and if you know the difference then you translate; if you don't then it doesn't matter.

I often respond to threads in a state of inebriation (as now) which probably accounts for a lot of typos.

What grammatical errors bug you the most?

for me it's the use of : .

it's as a possessive - it's means "it is", so if you don't want to say "it is" don't use the apostrophe.

there are others that bug me but this one is the worst.

Spelling, grammatical and typing errors don't really bug me that much. Language is so complex, and typing so prone to fumbles, that NOBODY gets it right all of the time.

I will mention one not mentioned before though: when people say 'In Jesusez day' instead of 'In Jesus' day' or similar.

my jw mother had a garage sale this past weekend and asked to borrow my folding tables.

she lives with some other old jw self-righteous, too-nosy-for-her-own-good lady and they were having it together.

i lent her the tables and asked if she could put some of my things in the garage sale that didn't sell last time ... she agreed.

We have something in the UK called 'car boot' sales. Similer to a garage sale but on a huge scale; hundreds of people bring all their junk to sell in one place, usually a farmer's field somewhere.

I too was shocked to see a stall set out with all the literature on it.

That's all very well if you ARE making love. I am monogamous by heart but if your wife doesn't love you anymore and won't let you even touch her it gets VERY difficult after a few years.

JW Spouse problems

i am not a jw, my spouse is getting way into it -- 4 times a week.

i am not sure what she is doing - and i am not interested in jw -- it is not for me or my children.

a sister was coming to my home -- without my consent and giving a "study" to my children.

Yes, it is the way they operate. They will do everything they can to turn your children and wife against you, in a spiritual sense.

In fact, your wife and children are even now being primed to look out for your objections. Scriptures about 'setting parents against children' etc will be cited to 'prove' that such opposition means that they have the 'truth'

Tread carefully. Outright opposition may be too late, it may make matters worse, you'll have to play it by ear. I suggest asking them lots of questions about issues that JWs don't want newbies to know about. For example: if children\wife become JWs will they be able to have friends in the world?, have birthdays?, celebrate christmas?, have to preach door-to-door?, have blood transfusions after a serious accident?, question direction from the GB?

Depending on how advanced into it they are you might bring up child protection issues, the UN, and failed prophecy. That requires a lot of research on your part.

Once the indoctrination fully sets in they will not answer or even listen to you about such things.

one thing i'm convinced of is that jws live in their own little bubble.

the world could be in chaos around them but not missing a meeting is what's most important.

children of jws could be going thru teenage trauma or even molestation, but are they getting their "time" in??

I think the epitome of this statement is the way they think the world is against them. The governments and especially the media are all controlled by Satan and everything in the world is designed to thwart Jehovah's Witnesses in this 'time of the end'.

In reality, nobody (except those hurt by them) gives a monkey's chuff about this weird little cult.

Let's face it, Jehovah's Witnesses are a paranoid little religion with delusions of grandeur
