You need to go to metrosexual.com and get one of those suits Anthony was talking about, that's what's going to really impress them down at the kingdom hall.

My Breaking Point -- 11/9/14
by game1914over ini have enjoyed reading your comments during the past four years.
deep down inside, i have always been agnostic.
the first few chapters in genesis are contradictory and differing.. no one has ever been able to answer my question: "why was satan ever created?".

Welcome. You make a very good point about the focus on spandex pants and metrosexual suits when there are pedophiles in the organization. You could say the same about domestic violence and business fraud also, all problems among people in the organization, but they cannot talk about that, because then they would have to admit that it is a problem.
It was ridiculous to go on about the father who raised seven kids, but the last two weren't ministerial servants yet. We know that they have a very low retention rate among young people, so if any one has seven out of seven children in the religion they are doing remarkably well. Then those who have children who have left are made to feel even worse, like it was all their fault. This religion has nothing to offer, it's no surprise most don't want to stick around.

I agree, such stupidity displayed in his rant means that they are their own worst enemies and don't really need us anymore.
I was thinking that in some areas the local brothers might be putting a softer spin on their talks, so many JWs may not be aware of how crazy and hardcore the governing body is. It might be doing more harm than good to have them advertise how nutty they really are. I can just see the teen agers rolling their eyes at the tight pants/spanx comments.
When my kids were teens they had the talk about music, the speaker went on and on about how bad the song "Mack the knife" was. It's a jazz standard from the sixties, they had never heard of it. It was embarrassing, they were so out of touch to the problems young people were facing at the time, things are no better now.

by Blackfalcon98 inhi guys, ive finally got a copy of coc from my local library, im on page 120ish and im really enjoying it!
the thing that gets me now that im enlightened is how little the rank and file know about anything this organazation does!
everything is so secretive and covered up behind a curtain.

Try just asking them relevant questions if the opportunity come up. Like "why aren't we supposed to read literature that is critical of the organization, shouldn't the truth stand up to criticism? We encourage Catholics to read our literature that is critical of their church, why the double standard". The religion has so many rules that make no sense if you think about them, but people don't think critically. If you ask most witnesses to defend their beliefs they cannot, even after a lifetime of meetings and study. There is something fundamentally wrong when you are not allowed to read anything critical of the Watchtower or ask certain questions.

Good for you. It makes me happy to see a young person waking up before the organization ruins their life.
I actually haven't read the book. I left before I knew TTATT, I just knew the religion wasn't for me and it wasn't representing God. It took me years before I even found JWN.

Nice pictures, thanks for sharing. The topography reminds me of some parts of Nevada, serene and beautiful, but also a climate that can be harsh.

There are different types of pageants, the really bad ones are called Glitz pageants, maybe they don't have that in Great Britain. For a glitz pageant makeup and big hair are required. It's really incredibly sad, the parents are usually overly invested in their child doing well, it seems to provide some kind of validation if their child wins, especially the ultimate grand supreme, the title everyone wants. If they lose they get really upset, it's kind of pathetic.
In most cases the parents are not wealthy, I don't know how they can afford to do it, one outfit can cost hundreds of dollars and they need at least two if not three different outfits. They usually have to travel, so they have to pay for hotels, a coach, lessons, spray tan and the entry fee for the pageant itself. Sometimes the kids are into it, sometimes not so much. They give them candy (it's referred to as pageant crack) when they are tired, sometimes they have to bribe them to get them to perform. Some of the girls are total brats, the mom will let them get away with anything as long as they will perform.

I thought that whole baby beauty pageant thing was only here in the US, too bad. I have watched a few episodes of Toddlers and Tiaras, I am constantly astonished what Parents are willing to do to their children. Make up, spray tan, fake teeth, wigs, hair teased and sprayed, elaborate dresses, dance lessons, pageant coaches. Often the parents can barely afford these things, they could probably put the money they spend into a savings account and have enough to put the child through college, instead they end up with a bunch of tacky trophies and tiarras. The girls usually end up being brats as the mom will do anything to make sure their little darlings perform on stage. It's horrific.

Thou speaks folly, verily, thou will be worm food, but thy God doth not exist, except in the fevered dreams of thee. How art does thou believe in a loving heaven father who doth torture his children in the pits of hell?
