I don't see the point to attacking Nitty Gritty. He has kept the discussion civil and has a right to his opinion. -

1. First of would you mind telling me how the elders found out about the fact that your friend told this sister.
The woman told her fiance, he complained to the elders.
2. And was it an isolated incidence, I mean did he go on to molest anyone else?We both moved away shortly after, so unknown. The woman still married the guy, I wouldn't bet money they were not molested, the statistics on that are not good. At least she had the opportunity to make an informed decision, obviously if my friend had said nothing she would not have been told.

I wonder if in fifty years they will have more "New light" that there are actually now three groups. The people, who knew the people that knew the people who were around in 1914.
generation"one of his generation's finest songwriters"[ ˌjenəˈrāSHən ]NOUN- all of the people born and living at about the same time, regarded collectively:

You don't give the members of the congregation much credit and think they are all dim wits evidently.
On the contrary, I just know the state of denial that many JWs live in. My best friend when I was a JW was one of the smartest people I know. Her son was molested by a young brother that she employed to babysit. He confessed and was privately reproved. A year later he got married to a sister with two young children. My friend was concerned that she was not aware that she was marrying a pedophile, so she informed the woman. My friend was told she should not have done that, and if she told anyone else she would be subject to a JC.
I knew of this and was bothered, I knew there was a very great chance those children would be molested, but I thought it was an isolated incident, those elders were just mistaken, Jehovah would fix it in time, etc. I consider myself a fairly intelligent person, yet I did not see what would be obvious to any one not in a cult, that this was how they did things, and was not an isolated event, but business as usual.

I agree you can't disclose names unless it has been proven, so Silent Lambs is correct in not listing names, but what about where there has been a conviction, or a confession? Silent Lambs does disclose names when they are in the media, but does the Watchtower? It seems that the Watchtower is more interested in protecting themselves from litigation than the innocent children in the congregations.
The other problem I have is that they aren't truly keeping things confidential. All the elders in a congregation often do know when there is a pedophile accusation, so they can protect their children. If they cannot disclose the names of the accused, they could disclose that there have been accusations and that parents need to be careful, then all children could be protected, not just elders families.
What also bothers me about the list is that the Watchtower pretends it doesn't have a problem with pedophiles, or if they do its very rare, almost none, etc. Thus individuals are living with a false sense of security, as they have been told time and again that they live in a "spiritual paradise". If the Watchtower was honest and open about how many accusations of sex abuse are made in a given year I would guess that parents would be quite a bit more diligent in who their children visit.

It is crucial and I'm a big fan/advocate of the first amendment, however Internet bullying is already a crime
Is it? I see bullying on the internet every day. Can you site a case where someone was arrested simply for being a bully? I do think there is a fine line between harassment and bullying, but just stating your opinion, however offensive that is, is not a crime. It's only when that opinion is consistently directed to a particular person, especially if it is due to race gender or sexual orientation that it crosses the line and becomes a crime.
Which of the following do you think should not be a crime?
Bullying and cyberbullying can become a crime if you:
- Physically assaulting someone
- Harassing someone especially if the harassment is based on gender or racism
- Making violent threats
- Making death threats
- Making obscene and harassing phone calls and texts
- Sexting
- Sextortion which is sexual exploitation
- Child pornography
- Stalking someone
- Commiting hate crimes
- Taking a photo of someone in a place where they expect privacy
- Extortion

My daughter looked into Buddism, but there was an extreme Buddhist that was pushy and just as narrow minded as any JW, so no. I tried a liberal Christian Church, nice people, I saw some benefits, but since I don't believe in God it was hard to see the point.
Have you tried meditation? It's like the best part of religion, without the woo. It's been scientifically proven to lower blood pressure and decrease anxiety and depression.

mendments can and have been repealed. If public sentiment coincides with Washington agenda, the First Amendment could be replaced. It seems as if public sentiment is already heading in that direction. I'm not predicting that it will happen, but it's certainly possible.
No, it really isn't. The first amendment is crucial to our country, it will not be amended. You may have been one who hated the ACLU for championing causes you found to be distasteful, but they will be the first people to step in and defend you for exercising your free speech. No Washington agenda could stop free speech, nor would anyone who wants to repeal the first amendment ever get elected to attempt to drop so.
Sorry, but this just seems like sour grapes, because your opinion is now not the majority and you don't like that.
