Geoffrey Jackson's Golden Apple watch INVESTIGATED
by C0ntr013r ini went through the original footage to get a good look at the watch.. from these pictures we can probably say that it is a apple watch and that it has a golden color.
the color on the pin is black, and the band is white, grey, silvery or beige.. .
the pin is in the exact place for it to be a apple watch.. only apple watch edition have the gold color.

I dont know if anyone else has talked about this on any of the apple watch threads, but doesn't the Watchtower recommended Apple tablets? Is it possible that they got some swag for doing so? They do the same things with hotel rooms (get free rooms for throwing business to the hotel while the rank and file overpay) -

i feel more confused than ever
by BlackWolf inwell i know i've been posting a lot of topics like this lately and i'm sorry if i sound whiny or annoying.
my parents were asking me why i was so upset lately and i ended up just telling them the whole truth.
i told them i don't believe in god or the bible because i don't have any evidence of anything.

You are very young, you don't have to figure this all our right this moment. Of course it's confusing when your parents say one thing, your JW friends say one thing, then you come here and we believe something different. I think you know in your heart and mind where the truth is, you just need time to absorb it all. Put this on the back burner for a while, I think you will gain clarity.
But don't stop asking questions and don't push your doubts away because it's confusing right now. Listen to your own conscience, don't let any one tell you what you should believe, not your parents, not your friends, not even us. It's your life
Right now you are probably going to the meetings. While you are there look for the inconsistencies, the logical fallacies, the things that just plain don't make sense. Question everything. Once you know how cults work you will easily be able to spot see how you and your parents have been manipulated. Knowledge is power.
So for now, just obey your parents, go to the meetings etc., but don't forget what you have learned, be prepared for when you are an adult and can make your own decisions. Don't get baptized, it would be wrong with your current doubts and you need to keep your options open. Focus on your education.

Life after the witnesses, friends, faith etc
by Theburstbubble inhi everyone, this is my first post so go easy on me :) i have been a witness all of my life (i'm 37) and truly believed it until 3 years ago.
my husband and i had become spiritually weak and over time i began to question more and more until i came to the conclusion that the witnesses were not the true religion but just one of many religions and that if god is there then there are many paths to get to him.
anyway, i've battled with keeping going as my husband still believed and i didn't want to be in a divided household as we have a young daughter and thought it would be very confusing for her (and us).

Hi and welcome. I have been out for a long time, so I have completely adapted to life as a non JW. I have new friends and find them to be just as good as my friendships before, but different. I only think about the JWs when I come here, otherwise it's not a part of my life.
It does take a while before you get to being your natural self, the person you were meant to be if you hadn't become a JW. Be patient, as change doesn't happen over night, and it takes a while before you get rid of Watchtower thinking. At first I just thought they were not just mistaken on some things, but as time went on I realized they really got nothing right. About eight years in I lost faith in God completely, I am happy to not have to worry about any of it anymore. I think we are here for a short while on earth, make the most of it, you don't get a do over or a second chance, so don't waste in service to a cult. I am happy in my life and my only regret was not leaving sooner.
I hope you have a very successful transition as well.

I am so glad you were able to convince her to take the transfusion. You are a good son.
My ex husband had a hemoglobin of 3 and wouldn't take a transfusion either, even though he had been disfellowshipped for twenty years by then. Amazingly he did not die, but it took him a year to get better. I was still a JW then, I thought it was incredibly stupid.
Cult brainwashing is hard to fight.

Know a single JW man? I would like to see my JW mom marry again
by JimmyPage inmy mother is old enough that i don't want to burst her bubble by telling her ttatt.
i keep my mouth shut about what i know so that i can continue to have a relationship with her.
my father died a few years back and i would love to see her marry again.

It's really hard for older women in this organization to find a decent guy. At her age there are just not enough single men to go around, which means she would probably have to settle if she was desperate to get married. Personally I would rather be single in her circumstances. Why don't you just get her a cat? -

Won't get fooled again ...Moon Landing.
by The Rebel inso i was fooled by the witnesses.
what can i learn from that?
not to accept things at face value but to seek out opinion and different view points.. hence my question " do you believe man landed on the moon?.

You obviously didn't bother to read my post, I thought I gave a pretty good explanation of why. I have to agree with everyone else, you are lazy and this thread is over, I won't waste any more time on it. -

) So WHY did Bush NOT explain WHY it would take 15 years with 21st tecnology to return to the moon, when it only took 8 years to accomplish this achievement with 1960s tecnology.
Maybe because he assumes that anyone interested in the subject already knew the answer to that question. It's not exactly rocket science, lol.
They are trying to do more than just land on the moon and plant a flag. They are looking to put people there for several months, so they need a bigger ship to transport all those supplies, and time to design and build everything. Nasa doesn't currently even have the kind of rockets that would get us out of the earth's orbit. And of course all this takes money, there is only so much in the budget.
Full explanation here :
http://m.space.com/7015-40-years-moon-landing-hard.html
By the way, it took me exactly two minutes to find this information.
B) Why to my knowledge was this question not raised by journalists at the press conference?
Maybe because they, being good journalists and not lazy, had already researched and knew why.

i made my sister cry :(
by BlackWolf inso lately i've felt so frustrated and overwhelmed that i had to tell someone how i felt.
my parents were gone so i decided to talk to my sister.
we've always been close so i thought i could trust her because we have talked about it before.
-

I think you need to back pedal a bit. Just tell your sister you are stressed out and was just talking things through, you didn't mean to upset her, and you hope she will understand that you aren't sure of anything right now.
You need to keep things to yourself until you are completely ready the speak your truth. You will know when the time is right. Confide in a non JW friend, or vent here on JWN.

I was thinking about this today. A few years after the moon landing some peoole in the Nixon administration broke into the Watergate building in an attempt to dig up dirt on the democrats. Not only were they caught, they couldn't even hide that fact that Nixon knew what they were doing, he was forced to resign.
So we are supoosed to believe the government that couldnt carry off a simple burglary was able to plan and implement a fraud of monumental proportions that would have had to involve thousands of people, and not only were they able to carry it off, in the many years since then not one person involved ever came forward to talk about it, and furthermore, Russia, who we were in a cold war with at the time, and who would have been able to expose the fraud, said nothing either.
As I said, people will believe what they want to believe.

Dealing With ANGER!!
by kairos inlittle help i'd like to pass on from another cult survivor to me.. not jw but a violent, physically captive indian cult.. she says on anger:.
it's the longest lasting emotion with have.. it takes at least 90 seconds for it to run it's course once we stop.a lot can happen in 90 seconds, and some of the most horrible exchanges and actions happen right after the anger first manifests itself.. we're experiencing fantastic results by just going for a very short walk ( 90 seconds out in the yard or other room ) before continuing the conversation.. when my wife and i come back together we can smile, embrace and congratulate each other for avoiding a horrible day.. before it even becomes anger, wait 3-5 seconds before making your reply.
slow it down!!

There is a scientific reason for this. The primitive part of our brain responds much faster han our more developed brain. This is what causes road rage, any shock or threat activates our primitive brain, and the fight or flight response. This is why people who are normally passive can do something very shocking and out of character for them. As time passes the more logical brain takes control.
Breathing is a good way to gain control. Try breathing in slowly for eight seconds, holding your breath for eight seconds, then breath out slowly for eight seconds.
