  JWs and Multiple Personality Disorder

  i remember the first time i was hit with my loves cult personality.

  knowing the real him, my jaw dropped witnessing this switch.

  i thought he had lost it.

  I don't think it is at all the same. MPD is a very specific diagnosis, if it does exist, those affected have huge gaps in their memory as they actually do not recall acts performed by other personalities. They also exhibit extreme disfunction in their lives, their issues make loving a normal life almost impossible. 

  I think the cult mind control of the JWs causes people to submerge their natural personality into one that is more acceptable to the organization. Get them away from the constant meetings and that natural personality will come out more, that is why they are so insistent about meeting attendance. But people do remember all events no matter which personality  was more evident at the time, and they have normal lives, if you can call being a JW normal.

  Is shunning effective?

  It does work to a certain extent. There are a lot of people whose would leave if they weren't going to lose their family. It also keeps people from finding out that "The Truth" is actually "The Lie", since those who find out cannot talk to those still in. It also breaks up families, which causes those still in to be more dependent on their relationships in the organization. 

  The Watchtower doesn't care about those who aren't 100% committed. they would rather they leave, imo.

  Seen smoking a cigarette

  i won't say i got "caught" because that would imply i was keeping my habit hidden.

  i'm tired of constantly doing that with these guys.

  yesterday, my friend and i were waiting for some people and decided to smoke a cigarette to pass the time.

   You know how you feel about a child molester ?  Well that is how they feel about smoking .  Child molester, smoker, child molester, smoker...........it's a toss up

  They are far harder on smokers than child molesters, if you believe half the stories out there.

  there are a few things i picked up from watchtowerism that i still find value in.

  (although, i could have easily picked them up elsewhere.).

  one of these is the 30-day test to abstain from all booze.. .

  Why even have a flood in the first place? If God is all knowing and all powerful he could have simply made everyone but Noah disappear. Is he so cruel as to prefer that people suffer and die a horrible death, even children?

  It was a very difficult year for me and my family so I am glad it's over. I have been doing lot of thinking about what I want to do in my life, so I have come up with a plan to get me where I want to be. It's going to be hard, but I really think I can do it. 

  Start doing yoga. 

  Get my business going again. 

  Get off of all prescription medications

  uber dub random meeting and why all the changes to the format here?!

  ran into an uber-dub known from my history in the org......she had to be very sure i wasn't d'fed or d'aed - merely "inactive" so she could give me a big hug and inform me that she knows i'm coming back to jehovah because he understands my "hurt" and....blah blah blah.

  it struck me how dependent they are on labels.......and how very stupid it is....you can hug me because i don't have the df label?

  would i be a different person if i had that label?

  a woman has been shot dead by a 2-year-old in a wal-mart store in idaho.. .

  This is a viewpoint on the blood doctrine I hadn't considered, good research and solid reasoning, this will be very helpful if it come up with discussions with my family. 

  My  feeling is that they originally were fearful of blood transfusions out of ignorance and used the bible as an excuse to justify those fears, what the bible actually allowed was secondary.  No doubt they would like to move away from it, but can't because it would raise too many questions about the many people who threw their life away by blindly following the Watchtower's doctrine. I wonder how many more will die because they refuse they admit they were wrong? I was at the market the other day and saw someone in front of me with a no blood card in her wallet, it made me sad.
