I doubt they would say anything, for one thing it would make them look like a crazy cult to the public, for another they could count it as a placement.

On the Relevancy of The Institutionalization of Sin
by Perry inchild murder, sodomy & corrupting the human genome are not new sins, they are old ones.
what is new is their institutionalization.
but even that isn't totally new.

t may not be long before words are criminalized. "Hate speech" is being denounced more and more. Donald Sterling is one example where the majority of people (rightfully) denounced his words. Many others have denounced the "hate speech" of anti-gay groups and the Westboro Baptist Church.
I'm not defending any of what these groups/people say or stand for, but there has been a lot of talk in the media about censuring "hate speech". If this concept gains popularity, it wouldn't be long before "free speech" is no longer free.Nonsense, there is the little matter of the constitution. What is discussed when people talk about hate speech is similar to what Donald Trump experienced. He made some very racist remarks regarding people from Mexico. He has not been arrested as far as I am aware, but he there have been repercussions, as businesses try to distance themselves from him. That is certainly their right, just as it was his right to say what he did. I disagree with his remarks (which were not only racist but completely inaccurate), but I would defend his right to say what he believes.
Denouncing is one thing, forbidding is another.

If there is no God why should you worry,
I don't.
or if your conviciton is that we are free to do whatever crosses our heart why feeling attacked?
Who said we thought we were free to do whatever crosses our heart? Just because we reject bible morality does not mean we reject morality. It's frustrating that so many believers repeat this nonsense, as if they cannot understand the concept of morality without God.
want to point to a more grave problem related to sexuality. Worldwide some 40 000 000 humans are killed by abortion each year. This is very immoral in my eyes and unmatched in history.
I am sorry you feel that way. I do not equate a few cells that could be a human with an actual human. I fully support your right not to get an abortion, I just don't support your right to push your version of morality into others.
There is much blood being shed in the name of liberty and freedom. If people would respect the law of the Bible this misery would be prevented to a high degree.
And if people quit thinking their religion was the only path to salvation we could stop 90% of all wars. That would end a lot of misery right there.
The concept of sin is more and more rejected by most, to the point of criminalizing those who dare to say that same-sex relations are wrong in the eyes of the God of the Bible.
Who said anything about criminalizing words? We all have free speech, I have seen nothing saying we don't.

Teenage Jehovah’s Witness refuses blood transfusion and dies

Jehovah's Witness parents should not expect the courts to automatically step in and save them by forcing a transfusion if that's what they secretly want, they need to tear up their child's blood card and clearly state their wishes in an emergency.
As far as 10K deaths due to lack of blood transfusions, I believe that number is wildy overstated. There have been a rash of discussions about the number and I'm not going there again, but I don't believe it's anywhere near that. Even one is too many though.

Candace Conti Settles
by Nitty-Gritty inhot topic on topix seems to be candace conti settlement.
but it's all quiet here.
are you guys aware that your hero, who was not in it for the money but to change policies, settled without changing anything?

My question is, how exactly has the organization clearly shown no interest in protecting or assisting in the protection of children?
Let me count the ways.
Two witness rule.Appointing elders when there have been multiple accusations of child abuse in the past.
Pressuring victims not to go to the authorities and "bring reproach" on Jehovah's name.
Blaming the victim. They actually have a form that asks what the CHILD did to cause the ADULT to molest them. You know, because five year olds are such hussies.
Disfellowshiping people because they insist on telling.
Pretending such a thing is almost unheard of while secretly maintaining a list of 56,000 names of accessed molesters.
Standing by while an admitted child molester marries a woman with children and threatening the victim's mother for being concerned and warning the woman he married. (Personal kowledge of this one).
Forcing the victim to recount the molestation in front of the perpetrator, thus victimizing them again.
Treating child abuse as any other sin, as if it's no worse than two teens having sex out of wedlock. Once a pedophile is reproved or reinstated they're considered forgiven, free to molest again with no one the wiser.
Settling out of court and demanding non disclosure agreement so the Watchtower can continue to pretend they don't have a problem.
Disfellowshiping young girls for fornication because they didn't fight off their adult abuser.
I count eleven ways

They both settled.
The secrecy part of the suit was always a stretch, had they ruled otherwise it would have created a logistical nightmare for all churches. I still believe the the Watchtower is in the wrong, because their culture and practices are completely different from other religions, but the court has chosen not to go there, you have to respect that. Another day, another case hopefully. No doubt the Watchtower will change procedure when it comes to assigning field service, so hopefully this scenario will not happen again.
The fact is Candice did win. Those whiners on Topx can grouse all they want, she won. They are just a bunch of mental cases, Watctower apologists and pedophile defenders. I remember many there predicting Candace would never win any part of this case, looks like they were wrong. It's laughable to think someone who was convicted of child abuse and also previously accused of child abuse was not also guilty in this case. The evidence was there or she would not have won, plain and simple.
Candice may have waned to change policy as regards to secrecy, but that wasn't going to happen and she was smart to take her victory. She has exposed Watchtower's dirty laundry, things that will help other victims with their cases and the publicity about the case has prompted some JWs to investigate and learn the truth about the truth, so Candace is still a hero in my book.

Do you ever feel strangely drawn towards Conspiracy Theories?
by JW_Rogue inafter mentally awakening to the idea that jws don't have the truth i strangely found myself delving into all encompassing conspiracy theories.
not that i believed them but something about them seemed quite fascinating.
i was especially drawn to the idea of a new world order/one world government.
-
LisaRose
The Watchtower is not completely dissimilar to a group of conspiracy theorists. They believe they have special knowledge that the rest of the world doesn't have, they believe the experts are all wrong and in on the conspiracy and there is an imminent threat. Perhaps you feel the loss of a belief system and want to look for something else to believe in.

This made me laugh so hard I have tears running down my face!
That's nothing, I laughed so hard I had tears running down my leg! (Just joking, but it was funny).
Blue calf, red calf , gold calf.
Blue square, ...............catch my drift?I had the same thought, I imagined the Israelites talking about the RGB value and Pantone number of the gold color used for the calf, and what background color was acceptable.

Who knows why people pick who they do? I knew of a similar case years ago. The woman was much older (older than his mother) and had mental health issues, bi-polar. The brother was young and stupid and horny. His family and friends begged him to reconsider but he did it anyway. She openly admitted she really just wanted sex, and older women are usually more comfortable with their sexuality, so you could guess that might have been the attraction. It ended as expected, they were separated within a year. Unfortunately she quickly had a baby, so he not only couldn't get a scriptural divorce, he had to pay child support and be tied to this person for the rest of his life.
