We live right outside of Dallas and it is 100 degrees with 45% humidity. We keep our air on 72 degrees upstairs and down because we like it cold. We sure feel it when the electricity bill comes though. The last two months it has been right around $1,000. Keeping cool comes with a price, but we have around 4,500 square feet we are cooling too.

Did you stop believing Armageddon is coming?

ive met exjws that stopped believing in everything they were taught and ive met some that stopped believing in everything except armageddon.
ive heard comments like: boy wont they be surprised when the day comes and they find out they arent the only ones surviving.

I do think it will come, but in God's time. If you do your best to live a Christian life and continue to study God's "real word" then I have confidence my family and I will be taken care of. After all, that is what the scriptures say.

What outward signs of apostacy are evident in your house?

a casual look around reveals a box of "narnia" tissues on my desk, 12 or 14 non-witness translations of bibles on my shelves, many non approved novels [wifey's] on the reading table, plenty of 'apostate literature', a book or two on meditation, a hypnosis cd for weight loss, prob many toys that are not witness approved in the g-kids room, a half eaten birthday cake, a birthday balloon, xmas wrapping paper in the closet , a couple of r rated movies, music that is not acceptable.. that is just at first blush.

i loved some of the get-togethers we had.

I loved being asked over and over if I was married yet; and then being reminded how single sisters outnumber single brothers.
I loved getting to save seats at District Conventions.
I loved it at the District Conventions how we would clap every single time the speaker rose his voice.
I loved getting to watch 400 falsh bulbs go off during the dramas.
I loved having to look up a scripture in the book of Nahum during a talk; and by the time I found it, the brother had already finished reading it.
I loved watching old brothers give public talks that talked about sexual relations and watching them have to make up all kinds of euphemisms for sexual terminology.
Yes sir, . . . . . . . . . . . . those were the days

The JW dress code.....yuck
by JH inthis morning i took a long walk and happened to walk near by a small christian church.
and i could see them come out of the building after their meeting.
they were all dressed differently, some in clean sunday clothes, some in clean jeans, but no one in a suit like the jw's do.

me and my wife (faithful jw) had a problem with an evil pioneer sister elder's wife in our former hall.
through the course of trying to work it out we decided we would be better off in another hall.

They are threatened by recorders because recorders record the TRUTH! You did the right thing. The only thing I would have done different is I would have said "show me in the bible where I can't use a recorder and I will put it away". They might have DF'd you on the spot though. LOL!!!

Hey......It's a start. They come across as being innocent people spreading news about the bible. I can see her viewpoint, but tell her to ask a witness if one of their children was about to die on the operating table and in order to save the child's life they would have to accept blood and would they?!?!?!?!? Bet she would whistle a different tune after they responded.

I loved the fact that my family loved me while I was a JW. That was all really.
Ah HECK......I always enjoyed singing all the corny songs and maybe changing a lyric or two to make my wife laugh. God that was bad!!!
