and it seems like we're getting a few like this nearly every day.
people who were raised jws, really worry that they are doing the right thing in leaving, yet who have been made to feel not good enough by the wts, who felt they never measured up, who struggled with it, but came to realize that what they'd been brought up to believe was just not the truth.. the same stories are told over and over again, and they come from sincere, good people - not whiny, fault-finding apostates like the rest of us riffraff around here!

Is There Anything Positive About Being A Jehovah's Witness?

Living in a pretty bad area, the friends at the hall keep us (kids) very busy doing different activities (skating, movies, gatherings). Unfortunately they also did not encourage us to make a better living( financially) than what we were use to.

in love with a very confused jw

this is a fairly long story, so bear with me.... twelve years ago i dated a jw man briefly in new york.
we got along really well, but he stopped calling.

He's been trained to fear everything that is not acceptable to the organization. Fear's are the hardest thing to face. I know you are hurting, but you are up against something that is pyschological. He may love you with all his heart, but until he can give up his fear of displeasing GOD ( we are talking about God!) you will be in for a very long journey.
I'm not the greatest at giving advice. I hope that everyone combine word's give you either strength or hope. I'll keep you in my prayers. PM me if you need to talk more.
For me I learned that my doubts about the truth were real. That there is no way that an organization that is directed by God keep's seeing the light on several subject's over and over again. I mean if God was doing the directing, he should be powerful enough to get it right the first time or at the very least the second time (maybe they didn't hear him right), but damn three and four times! Who am I kidding or rather who are they kidding.

I agree with alot ( if not all) of what Berean said.
Being with you makes him think of family and happiness. He is trained to think that only true happiness comes with associating with JW's. I know this is so hard to comprehend but he feels like he is chosing you over God at this point. I was where he was at. I told my husband (boyfriend at the time) that I wanted to raise my kid's the JW way because I thought this was the right and true way. And I would have chosen the organization over him at any given time after being married, even though I have been inactive for almost 7years!
It is even worst for someone, who from the day they are born is told that happiness comes only through Jehovah's organization. He may not even realize that it is an organization running his life not Jehovah. Please do not give up on him if you love him. Try to get him to read the book Crisis of Conscience. I have ruined several great relationships due to my belief's and I was honestly trying to serve God.
P.S. That was a great poem! Although in hindsight I could see how it could piss him off. You really told him off. lol
