Angelo is a Public Attorney, rather than having his own law practice, which he will eventually. But maybe not, as he enjoys his work a lot and prizes honesty and ethics. Plus he loves his fellow workers and they love him.
He is not PAID by criminals to get themselves off. Daily he has to endure the wailing, crying families of parents and family whose dumb son is otherwise about to be put into prison for life, just to become MORE hardened criminals. What kind of stupid logic is that? Our criminal system in Calif. is harsh, three strikes and you're doomed.
When Angelo detects that his assigned client IS guilty of all or part of the accusations, he follows the State of Caifornia ethics for Public Defenders, not paid attorney ethics, which as in the case of O.J. Simpson can be bought off. His judges are quite impressed with his wisdom and knowledge of the law... which laws are much stricter than in Florida, where he came from.

A lot of my own education on people's primal nature (since some of you think I go off on that subject too much, as well as evolution, since the two are tied in) as well as a multitude of legal issues are a result of extended conversations over the years (we keep the "redneck" gun-loving brothers away during these discussions :-))
Many of his fellow employees are Black, including his female boss. Naturally, he brings over many of his Black friends to visit and we are all good friends, playing poker, etc. (I skip that... too boring for me, besides I'm allergic to cigarette smoke.) This sometimes alarms the neighbors, since very few Black people live in Manhattan Beach (I have another sordid story on that for you), especially young men that are stereotyped as thugs. But more often they are court officers. :-))
He was one of the first applicants for the original "Survivors" TV show, and I took some footage for him to use in applying for it.
He is a Public Defender in the State of California that works in Inglewood, and his department is homicide, covering Inglewood, Compton and surrounding areas. (We live just a few miles from both locations). His five brothers and father are DEA agents in Florida.
Angelo is a mastermind in court, as the cultlike LAPD can often be caught following improper procedure in arrests, and he dislikes dishonest cops. Weekly he keeps 16-year-old dumb criminal kids from life imprisonment and untold family heartache (of course many go to jail who deserve it).
I had to share a photo a fellow atorney took of him the other day in the courtroom. Totally funny and rad.

LAPD, bigots and racists may be forved to watch in order to spew their hatred, which will be hilarious because they would normally never watch a video on bulliees, acting just like the self-righteous Christians walking out of Dan Savage's speech, discussed by Terry here I think.

In the "Wimp on the Barbie" video above, the tall kid in the white shirt with the real Australian accent (not okie-fied like Jan's) is Stephan, whom Jan exit-counseled after his spending $30k in three weeks of his dad's hard-earned money) to attend Sci courses in Florida. His dad owned a ranch, and this was like the boy's only inheritance. We had to teach him to live a real life, and in two weeks he has so very happy to be with us. We were crazy in those days, and had tons of fun. Never any sexual hanky-panky, drugs. etc. The world's fair in Brisbane was going on, and we wanted to snorkel the reefs up in Cairns before it got hot. I've got tons of S-VHS tapes converted to digital, from those trips, many very funny (at least if you are an Okie).
Henry Gilroy, who is being carried up the stairs, has been a Hollywood writer for years now, writing cartoons like the Tasmanian Devil, and much more. Most of the Americans I took with me were members of my church circa late 80s. I had a few speaking engagements in the local "Uniting" churches up there, or whatever they are called (evangelical). But my trip was paid for by a generous ex-JW elder by the name of Woodrow Wilson and his beautiful Scandinavian wife Marjaleena. They had a son Andrew who went on into Christian Ministry, and a beautiful daughter Adele who wanted to marry me (all in silliness, I gave her a plastic engagement ring) but she was like 14 years old.
Now she is happily married - they all came out to visit a couple of years ago.

Let's see, figuring it costs about half a million to reach the first level or so to become "clear," we should suggest they spend their slowly dissolving Billions to enroll in a mass Scientology course. As I said in a previous post, I went to Australia to hang out with the late Jan Groenveld, the only REAL exit-counselor in Australia that I knew of, and she was also an Okie in part by heritage. DAMN those stupid Okies that ruin our beautiful fantasy paradise of infinite power!! I wasn't there about Scientology at all, but for the Witnesses. But because I dared approach two Scientology "ethics officers" (women in Navy Suits watching everything with stone-cold faces in the back rows) to have a little fun with them (which makes any true believer LIVID with hatred that you DARE challenge their beliefs) , the day I left Australia (cowards) they passed out HUNDREDS of leaflets sayting I was a deprogramer and charged $10,000 a day for my services. Somewhere in my attic I have a copy of the letter, which Jan sent me later. I was stunned (never charged over $500 a day, not a bad price considering it took me days to recover from such sessions).
