it's an article in the october 2006 awake ' protect yourself from carjacking'.. it gives the story of suszan and anika who were carjacked in south africa.
byt two men.
All it takes is for one person to tell a story like that and it is accepted as fact. It is too good of a tale to be questioned.
It is easy to "believe" a story and pass it on if you really like it.
Again, another case of the end justifies the means. Even if the means is an outright fairy tale. (LIE)

i know around here you could have broken into any jw's home on a sunday morning using it.. outaservice (who changed his code to 1975)

I can remember at a District convention a brother giving a talk about a young witness who started learning disco dances.
He said the guy was like John Travolta! (everyone chuckled) Eventually the story lead to the guy turning to drugs and such and ended up dying from it. Always embellishing! Now would we want that to happen to us brothers and sisters? lol

When i was a kid my mom told me if a stranger told me to get in the car with them because my parents told him to pick me up, then I was to ask the stranger for the codeword.
Of course it was Jehovah.

It is so crazy how the carbon dating issue is treated like a joke in the org.
I was always told that the method was faulty. So I guess it is SO faulty that it's millions of years off! So faulty that it would be more accurate to look at a fossil for 30 seconds and guess!?
When (or if) a scientist in this field hears this claim they probably want to scream. You might as well walk up to them and call them retarded. "All your expensive equipment which has been tweaked through the years by brilliant minds is no better than a magic 8 ball!"
AND, the people in the org. making these claims have NO scientific knowledge.
Even if something is completely impossible, without a shadow of a doubt, it is still taught and believed.

lets see now.......... monday night: prepare for the tuesday night book study i will conduct.
also, have the family monday night watchtower study preparation.. tues night: drive over to an almost inactive brother's house to conduct the book study.
prepared questions for the children ahead of time.
If you think about it, if we used those countless hours practicing something like juggling, magic tricks, card counting, studying college text books, etc.,etc.,etc. we could all be world famous!!!

To this day there is a dark cloud for me on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
It's been years since a meeting but I can't get away from the feelings of those days.

They kinda looked like an over sized old school doctor house call bag.
When I was a kid mine was the complete opposite. It was one of those single compartment bags with the metal spring hinges that would kind of stay open when you opened it up. Kinda like 2 pieces of pleather sewn together with 2 skinny handles. I used to see how high I could throw it in the parking lot after the meeting and would get in trouble.
