  it's a convention, for some reason you are now up on stage with the mic, the auditorium falls silent awaiting your inspirational thoughts, no one knows you no longer believe, amidst the crowd are many close friends and direct family.

  you will never, ever get another chance like this, this is a life changing opportunity.

  you will have maybe 10 seconds before they cut the mike.

  I think if you dont believe, you're not going to end up on stage at a convention.

  If you don't believe you cant do all the things that get you up on stage.

  Field circus, meeting attendance, giving talks, hanging with those who believe.

  Do you think mankind as a whole will get to meet the Third Kind in our life?

  i'm sure we have been visited by the third kind, but i am referring to a time, within our lives, where as a whole man will be visited and see them.

  i know mother shipton, maya, sumerian, and others all reference a future (in all aspects similar to our modern time) when the "gods" will return and help men ascend to a new level.

  personally, i don't think such an event is too far fetched..

  (for the purposes of this post, i want to say that being angry, though a real emotion, is not healthy if it continues to fester inside you.

  i think anger is reasonable if it helps you to move on from point a to point b. in addition, because of the real issues anger can bring, if you feel that after many years you are still angry over your jw experience, i strongly encourage therapy.

  I'm going to be angry at the Tower till the day I die.

  They touched the quality of my life right to the grave.

  Some days are better than others.

  But I'd love to see the tower fall.

  I know anger leads to suffering, so I enjoy it only occasionally in small doses.

  Why Arguments and Debates on the Trinity are a Waste of Time

  this isn't meant to be a shit stirring topic, just a thought or two, a memory really, from my jw days.

  because i know i have more experience then most on debating the veracity of the trinity..... there are two camps, people of faith, and people of math.. people of faith will always be more convinced of the trinity every day, because for the most part, the teachers of the trinity are very up front about the fact that it is a mystery.. so the more you point out how illogical it is, the more a mystery the trinity becomes, and thus, it also becomes more real.

  People that believe in the trinity, believe in the bible, they read their bible.

  The bible says the preaching of the cross is foolishness to those that are perishing.

  The bible also says you are saved by faith.

  The way to get faith is by asking Jesus, God for faith.

  In a way its circular reasoning, but that is one method to come to believe in the trinity.

  A lot of those who believe in the trinity have peace that passes all understanding.

  Peace is very important, people take drugs, drink alcohol, see medical doctors trying to find it.

  So I agree its foolish to argue with someone who believes in the trinity, because they have peace

  and they are not going to give it up to become one with their percieved kaos and confusion of the world.

  19 and 23.

  I got baptized at 19 in 1972.

  I found out the truth about the troof four years later in 1976.

  Thank God they gave me an escape clause, escape date.

  i am in a spiritual void at the moment after a year out of the borg and 50 years in.. i'd like to hear 'brief' evidence for the existance or non existance of god/s without an argument between members here.. i'd like to get fresh view points as mine is now so critical it's telling me to be an agnostic or atheist.

  why?

  i am in want of evidence, not just words from a copy/paste troll & no links.. i just want to open up to new possibilities but with evidence to support it not just 'faith'..

  I dont find the evidence to be black or white, or 90/10.

  I find the evidence like a scale that is balancing God no God.

  If I want to tilt it I have to apply faith, faith to either side.

  Thats the way I see it today.

  I will say at 59 years old I am a work in progress.

  do we accept as fact something we are told?.

  often, we do if we respect the people who tell us.. .

  this is true of buddhists, wiccans, jews, muslims, communists and even christians.. inside your family there are beliefs accepted by respectable parents, grandparents and sibling.

  I made my own toolbox.

  I was in my 30's, I escaped the tower at 31, I was raised in the tower from one year old.

  When I escaped the cult I was a mess, somewhat of a hypocondriac, and I thought money was evil.

  I had an uncle who was an entertainer, hypnotist.

  He told me about Jose Silva and the Silva mind control method.

  This was about 83, it was not the information age so I picked up a book and a tape program

  and I hypnotized myself daly and rebuilt my tool box.

  I called it rebuilding my engine.

  I took a tape recorder and a 30 minute tape, the first five minutes of the tape, brought me to the Theta brain state

  4-7 hz. When I reached this wave pattern, I reprogramed myself on the tape with positive affirmations

  of what I wanted to be, ie healthy, confident, wise, a money magnet, successful, good father, long life, stay out of way

  of moving objects, etc.

  It served me well for 28 years, the self hypnosis, which I call the Silva system, I used to even get dental work, fillings done

  with out novacane.

  Thanks for the topic, I'm thinking I need to update and remodel certain aspects of my toolbox/ engine for the new millenium.

  i heard some analysts on the news recently saying that at the rate the us is falling and china rising, it is expected that china will be the super power within the next 30 or 40 years.

  if that happens then i guess there will be another mass exodus of jws from the wt despite what new light they come up with.

  but if the witlesses are right then that means god must intervene and the great tribulation and armageddon is coming in less than 30 or 40 years.

  I lived thru the JW's predicting 1975.

  I dont pay attention to their predictions any more.

  They are stupid when it comes to predicting the future.

  Biblically they are false prophets and should be stoned.
