I really dont know what to believe. The bible does not appear to be credible and evolving from a salamander doesnt make sense. Reality is probly neither of those two options.

How accountable is the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses?
by The wanderer inuntitled document <!-- .style1 {font-family: verdana} --> should the governing body of jehovah's witnesses be held accountable?
understandably, this question is going to create some controversy.
however, think for one moment?

In this world we live in most everybody lies. They lie on tv, they lie on the radio, the newspaper. The president lies. Its the human way. I dont think anybody will be held accountable for lying about God. For some reason we all here had a need to listen to the lie.

Did anyone else wonder why?
by Jerohobobonadad ini always thought that if you want to do 6 or 60 hours a month in field service, why make a big fanfare about it and become a pioneer or whatever?
i always thought if you want to go out loads, then go out loads; why do you need a group of "elders" to approve of it and make an announcement?
i've read about a few on this board who got turned down for pioneering.

I pioneered for a year back in 72 I was dumb and young. Looking for direction. I guess I was looking for Gods approval because I never got my parents approval.

"Leaving the Truth" The Easy Way
by metatron ini noticed that we have a lot of new lurkers here - and, in particular, some elders who are agonizing over how to get free.
from the watchtower without causing too much damage to themselves.
here are some suggestions that have worked.

What would you say?
by bagpuss ini spent time in a cong where the school overseer had a real thing for pronouncing words just like on the wt cds.
this meant that we were always been counselled for incorrect pronunciation, especially when it came to the word philistine.he insisted that the 'ine' at the end should be pronounced as 'een' and that the emphasis should be on the second syllable ' lis' .
i would cringe listening to students using the ' correct pronunciation' when privately they all thought it was wrong to have his view imposed on us.. what about you.

Since I have left the jw's I notice bible thumpers pronouncing the various biblical names all sorts of ways. Variety is the spice of life.

Question for JW believers...or whoever wants to answer
by kittyeatzjdubs ini often wondered this myself a lot growing up, and i must know.... if there was no paradise hope, no promise of living forever or having your dead loved ones resurrected....would you still serve your god and follow the organization?
would you have ever began studying with the witnesses for that matter or stayed in the ''truth'' if you were raised in it?.
because isn't that the golden ticket that jw's wave in front of their studies or interested ones?

The concept of Free Will makes no sense if one is punished for making "the wrong choice" or is rewarded for making "the right choice
I totally agree

No way. You make excellent points. I think some of those that are in it must believe. I think they are like zombies in a trance. Problably many of us are about various things. I think its the floride they put in the water.
