LAME (or funny) JW "Get together" stories, please...
by exwitless inok,i've been sick for 2 days (sore throat, feeling run-down) so i could use some good laughs.
something just made me think of how absurdly lame jw "get-togethers" always were.
there were several that we went to (when we were still being love-bombed as newbies) where we ate dinner, then played bible pictionary.

When I was a witness I went to some enjoyable get togethers and drank and played cards and pictionary and other various games. We used to drink a lot at the get togethers. If I reflect back, I do miss that aspect of my life. But, I will never go back to it. You cant go back everything and everybody has changed.

Should't we own a part of the Kingdom Hall?
by JH inafterall, most of us spent years there.
many of us took our time and money to build the hall.
many of us renovated the hall afterwards.. shouldn't the halls belong to the ones who built it and put money into it and who go there regularly?.

I think I'll start a cult, and let my followers build many buildings that they will pay, and I'll be the owner.
Thats what L. Ron Hubbard did with scientology. -

You should have got something in writing up front. Charity is charity.

Sorry I brought it up. Bush invaded Iraq to move the war on terror to another theater, lest it be fought on western soil.
Done with this thread.
If you want to know whats going on in the world stop watching fox news.

Well I agree he's a clown. I think a war with korea would have been more appropriate than a war with Iraq, Hes kind of bankrupted America on his boondoggle in Iraq.

What do YOU say to people in hopeless situations?
by AlmostAtheist insometimes you have a friend that falls on hard times.
their health fails, they lose their jobs, they spend their last dollar -- whatever.
they don't have anything good on the horizon.

I would say my condolences to you.

Your opinion: Are those raised as Witnesses more likely to end up godless?
by under_believer inwas thinking about this the other day and wanted to get your (yes: your) opinion.
i find myself slipping farther and farther down the agnostic scale in my thinking--it's possible that i'll end up an atheist.
my suspicion is that because i was raised being taught that all other religions are false, that i came to the conclusion that if the witnesses don't have "the truth" then nobody does.

agnostics are the only honest people there are theist and atheist are both full of baloney.
