Its Friday night, I spent the night with my wife out to dinner on Clearwater Beach. Walked the beach, watched the street performers

went to my sons house watched a movie and now I'm checking this site out at 11:40.

The grass is always greeener on the other side.

I dont think the people here are loosers any more than any other group.

I think we all had a bad experience called the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs witnesses.

But we have survived it.

We have the Watchtower in common, after that its a diverse group of people.

I work in a jail with a diverse group of people. All the young and hip young people are glued to their cell phones

which appear to be computers with google.

Their young and constantly on their computers. I'm old and occasionaly on my computer.

Do you yearn to know what we are, and why we are here, before you die?

lets face it, we don't know what humans are.

science is doing a good job at uncovering many facts about us, but even science cannot explain consciousness yet.

conciousness is still a strong mystery to us.

I have been obsessed with knowing what we are and why we are here before I die.

I have taken a job for the past 7 years that allows me to read 5 out of 8 hours a night trying to find

the answers.

I may have found the answer but I dont know.

There is the biblical explanation.

The ahteist explanation.

The Budhist, Hindu explanations.

The various new age explanations.

At this time the argument that has the most evidence to support it that I have found

is the Zechariah Sitchin the 12th Planet and Earth Chronicle series of books.

He goes back to the Sumerian text which are the begining of recorded history and which were used in the old

Testament of the bible.

We were put here by spacemen to be their slaves.

These are some of my observations or conclusions:

If we made love not war we could probalby live forever in paradise.

But we cant or wont.

With all the money man has spent on war thru out history, if we spent it on love and paradise

we could go down to corner and buy a new heart, kidney or liver for 50 cents when we needed it.

so, adam sinned, was unplugged from whatever, and slowly wound down and died.. satan sinned too.

so why wasnt he unplugged, and slowly wound down, to an eventual death as well?.

it seems that, left to nature, he will never die, as eventually god is going to have to destroy him..

I'm an agnostic because of questions like this and because I have read the bible cover to cover 7 times.

I will say the short and simple answer to one law for Adam and another for Satin is Satin is a spirit like God

and Adam was a material being.

As far as the question on the Egyptian live stock.

Its a what if question.

The first question is, are the stories in the bible true?

If you want to go with the premise that they are.

Then you will find an answer to any questions that raise incoherencies regarding the question.

If you dont beleive they are true than you wont find and answer. Or any answer you find wont be acceptable.

If your an agnostic like I am you will find an incoherency and an answer and you still wont know what to believe.

So that tells me If one wants the biblical salvation they have to take the leap and be saved by faith.

The short and simple answer to the dissappearing live stock is.

Wandering in the wilderness they died off.

Some could have wandered off, stampeded off.

Probably died do to the extreme harsh conditions of being lost in the wilderness.

One questions leads to another and the house of cards falls down.

But the house of cards can magically and gloriously reasemble itself before your eyes by injecting a shot

of faith.

Last night at work I read the book of Romans and its not even as simple as having faith.

According to the bible everything is predestined. Especially according to the book of Romans.

We are predestined to be believers, agnostics, and atheist.

Theres really nothing we can do about it but sit back and enjoy the ride.

Hitler had no choice but to be Hitler. Bush had no choice but to be Bush. The pope had no choice but to be the pope

and on and on and on.

What Did You Not Do Because You Were A Jehovah's Witness That You Wanted To Do?

i didn't go to college and of course, "higher education" was never recommended.

still, i never felt terribly deprived because of not going further in my education.. yet, i did wish that i could've had "normal" aka "worldly friends".

i wish that as witnesses, we could've been better integrated with other people.

I didnt go to college.

I made poor career choices.

And I never matured emotionally.

How might one convince a Jehovah's Witness to read "Crisis of Conscience?"

i'm well into the book, can't put it down, it is just so fascinating and so utterly devastating to the credibility of the wtbts.

i suspect that any jehovah's witness who has a modicum of self respect and intelligence could not but finish the book a step or more on the path to emancipation from this awful, people destroying religion.. i really want my wife to read this book but i anticipate that she will refuse on the basis of it having been banned by the society as the worst kind of apostate literature.

i am genuinely saddened that she will not grant me the same kind of trust and respect she gives so lovingly to her watchtower masters and i will doubtless say this to her when she turns down my invitation.

The JW's I know dont read.

Apostates read.

I left the Tower in 83, my wife left in 93. She didnt read anything that made her leave.

She just wanted what I had and what I had wasnt at the Kingdom hall.

I read Crisis of Concience when it first came out back in the 80's, it validated my thoughts and suspicions.

Are you saying you have been trying to get your wife to leave the tower for 33 years?

I think your trying to hard.

Seriously, let go and let God.

Oh yeah, if I'm not mistaken, you dont believe in God

After 33 years, if your wife were to leave the tower, it might kill you.

Do the Harold Campings of the world make witnesses question their own beliefs?

now that harold camping has been proven wrong again, er, the rapture is taking place at another date because he is an imperfect man, one question that comes to my mind is whether this kind of fiascos ever make active jehovah's witness connect the dots and realize they have been deceived as well.. also, i wonder if active witnesses ever get to think that if unbelievers were right about not believing camping, maybe they are also right about something else?

perhaps relying on reason is not that misguided after all?.

i would love to see your opinions on this.. .

I can just imagine my brother in laws telling me Harold Campings was wrong because he didnt have Gods spirit.

So I am never going to have that conversatioin with them.

And we will continue to get along at family get togethers.
