  yeah, i know it's a bit old but i just saw the movie tonight.

  i had no idea what the movie was about but i heard it was a true story.

  now i wonder how much was fact and how much was artistic liscense.

  The story itself is pretty freaky but I've never even heard of the legends of these Mothmen/Mothman

  Neither did I! Dont think that the story is factually true! Too farfetched to my humble opinion!!

  Freed 1 yr ago today; My B'D tomorrow

  it was one year ago today, that i mailed my disassociation letter.

  i had postponed my da'ng to spend months (many sleepless) gathering research to help "rescue" my jw friend of 26 years.

  i called her finally on june 30. turns out, she could have cared less.

  I know you were referring to the Cancer sign;-) I do like the water to, we all do, that's what we miss the most around here.(plus the sunshine) We used to live on the beach in New Zealand and in the Middle East.

  here is what this "special topic" describes with deadly false propaganda.. "a person might ask why we would single out the witnesses in this matter.

  as with other fundamentalist cults, the watchtower goes by the bible advice only when it comes to exposing crimes regarding children or anyone else, that there must be two or more witnesses to a crime.

  since abuse and molestation are rarely seen by anyone other than the perpetrator and the victim (and the victim will rarely testify against himself), perhaps hundreds or thousands of cases have gone unpunished, and the perpetrator has not been brought to the police, and the congregation has not been told.

  what do americans in general actually really know about the big outside world outside of their own culture?.

  it's certainly not just me, but for years since early childhood in fact, it has been commonly accepted by many, that americans in general are the biggest ignorant fools residing almost anywhere on the planet, yet they still do their damndest to have everyone believe what a great nation they are.

  is it even beyond their comprehension how foolish they look often to the rest of the world, the fact that they have so little understanding of problems on the worldwide front?.

  "that all Americans are ignorant and stupid.That is just not true " I agree with that! In every nation you have ignorant and stupid ones.So your thesis, Celtic Mark, is not commonly accepted here!! Same with the UK, when they do or say something ignorant/stupid most people in the rest of Europe will say: Let them be, they are living on an island!!;-) But what Celtic Mark said I have heard before, namely from my best friend who is an American and lives in San Diego! But she has been fortunate to travel all over the world. Perhaps that's the problem. The USA is so big that perhaps it's not interesting to look beyond the boundaries! So like CoonDawg says: " most have become oblivious to the happenings in the outside world unless it directly effects them in some way" But who cares? Especially when a country is in need, who will they call?? definitely not the Ghostbusters, but the USA!!!! And that's so unfair! When we lived in Saudi Arabia during the Gulf War, who was called to the rescue...indeed the USA!!!! But as soon as the war was over, they didnt know how fast to get rid of them, very hypocrite to my humble opinion!
