  i think us gun laws are s-t-u-p-i-d ... and the legal system more so.

  saw a very good suggestion yesterday though - force people who want to own a gun to require insurance (hey, you have to have it for a vehicle for gods sake).

  I agree with you that this invalidates some of the arguments that are brought forth by gun owners and Second Ammendment advocates. Clearly a citizenry with only small arms is no match for a modern army.

  TD, I think recent world history demonstrates otherwise. Afghanistan under the Soviet occupation, for example. Along with the US, the Soviets had the world's most modern military in the 1980s, and they were forced to abandon Afghanistan. A people with high levels of small arms ownership cannot be subdued against its will and modern military technology has not invalidated this.

  Can someone tell me the minimal amount of weapon-grade Anthrax spores i should stockpile in my home to safely keep the government in check? you know, the goverment has it... what good is a militia if its just armed with old huntin' rifles?

  is it best to store it in the freezer or in the garage? right now i keep it in the trunk because my wife does not read the labels on stuff in the freezer and ever since King, our grizzly bear, got hold of the bag she said i should not keep it in the house.. at least not until i found a way to prevent the neighbours garage door from interfeering with the trigger mechanism.

  Bad argument, weapons of mass destruction are not the personal arms of a foot soldier. Even back in 1790, the 2nd Amendment did not apply towards owning your own artillery piece, or fully armed warship. It applied to the sort of weapons a citizen could own in case he joined a militia to fight back against an unconstitutional government. That is small arms.

  This was upheld even in the infamously anti-2nd Amendment Miller case (the court found the defendant's sawed-off shotguns to not be military weapons and therefore bannable, which is/was ridiculous).

  You are misinformed, there is no open access to machine guns. Full auto weapons are severely restricted in the US.

  It has been this way since the National Firearms Act of 1934.

  What is the JW view of the Ichtus (Fish) christianity symbol?

  the thread about the cross got me to thinking about this - i think i read somewhere that the earliest known christian relic was a mosaic display of the fish symbol - which was taken as a sign of christianity.. has the watchtower ever explained why they avoid the use of this symbol?.

  have they ever explained why it is ok for them to use the watchtower as a symbol but not this?.

  being an immigrant before being a jw, i was always inclined to root for the democrats.. even until 2 years ago (look at my old posts) i used to make fun of and criticize bush.. i used to even hate the republicans for trying to be the moral police of everything.. .

  this has changed.. thanks to you guys, obama and the agenda to re-distribute the wealth of this country's citizens............. i oppose your agenda.. liberals true stripes are showing in bankrupting this country.. .

  If it had been a deranged person on the right, there would be no apologies. The salivary glands would have hardly been kept in check.

  There is a double standard at play, but we already know that. It's when they start exploiting a heinous massacre for partisan purposes before emergency personnel can even arrive on the scene (and before anyone even knows any facts) that it becomes truly screwed up.

  The LSM stepped in it big time.

  You have got to be kidding me.

  They are already making attempts to pivot, maybe they should have though of that this past weekend.
