i thought i would get the opinion of those on this forum about what is written in the following link:.
http://www.christianwitnesses.com/id347.html.
i don't mind who comments, but i am asking only those who served at bethel, preferably recently, what they think, from their own personal experience, about the claims raised in the link above, and perhaps other questions as well i might ask later, i'll see.. .
I never served, almost did. Satan kept parading pretty sisters before me, and I eventually got hitched. Of course, from what I've heard, Bethel is quite the smorgasbord for young dub brudders. An embarrassment of blueballs.
it looks like the former chief of staff of president obama is a man without a home.
poor guy!.
He's back on.

Yes, the Eastern churches can as well.

Is there a such thing as Apostlic Christian and Pauline
Paul is an apostle. I fail to see the real distinction.
It is many generations before the Bishop of Rome becomes notable.
That is actually not the case. The Bishop of Rome is notable from the very beginning, even if we exclude Peter.

i've heard the statement from bible apologists so many times that the global flood story of genesis was not a global flood but was probably a local flood.
this seems problematic.. this directly disagrees with the bible.
everywhere the bible internally references a global flood of worldwide scale (i'll throw in matthew 24:39 as a nt example and genesis 6:17 as a ot example.
Now, some have said that since his second coming is to be witnessed by the whole world that it means the flood was global, but thatis truly putting words in the mouths of the writers since Jesus did NOT say the whole world was flooded did he?
Even if he had, he was using an cultural reference to make a larger point. It was a spiritual teaching.
If there had been a world wide flood less than 6000 years ago, the geological evidence would be staggering.
The ice age, which was farther back in time, has left huge, unmistakable evidence. Most of N. America was covered in ice sheets.
Global flood that covered the mountains? There is no geological evidence. There isn't even enough water.

today i tried to read a transcript of a debate william lane craig had a few years back.
this particular argument which i have heard him give many times stumbled me for all the wrong reasons.
the argument is as this: (http://www.leaderu.com/offices/billcraig/docs/craig-smith_harvard02.html).
but your morals are not explained either, as i just demonstrated by asking for an explanation which you could no give.
Not could not. Would not. That is a different subject, and one you can easily look up online.
So the real difference boil down to me still looking for a source of objective moral truth, and you being happy with a source that does not explain morals in a way you can communicate, at least not unless i accept God (the premise i am trying to establish) to begin with... hmm.....
You still accept plenty of premises, including your own moral code.
And with that, I'm done with the thread.
It's a weak argument, as developed by Craig.
The idea of God as an objective source of moral truth is one that I implicitly accept and you do not.
There isn't anything left to discuss.

Bohm, again, you miss the point.
I believe in a good, truthful God, that created everything.
It works for me.
I really don't care what works for you. You will have to figure it out for yourself in the absence of God.
In the meantime, you can live off our (unexplainable to you) morality until you manage to figure out something better.
