Where have you turned to?
by Robert7 ini am very curious, since i am myself trying to figure out where to turn to, if anywhwere.
(i am still debating if i am truly an atheist at heart and religion in general turns me off at least as of now) where have you turned to since you left the wt?
i would imagine that many people who became witnesses had spiritual needs (which is ironic why i am feeling atheist, lol) but have you gone to other churches, stopped going to church, become atheist, etc?

I've got my own moral compass to steer by
A guiding star beats a spirit in the sky
And all the preaching voices -
Empty vessels ring so loud
As they move among the crowd
Fools and thieves are well disguised
In the temple and market place
Like a stone in the river
Against the floods of spring
I will quietly resist
Like the willows in the wind
Or the cliffs along the ocean
I will quietly resist
I don't have faith in faith
I don't believe in belief
You can call me faithless
I still cling to hope
And I believe in love
And that's faith enough for me
I've got my own spirit level for balance
To tell if my choice is leaning up or down
And all the shouting voices
Try to throw me off my course
Some by sermon, some by force
Fools and thieves are dangerous
In the temple and market place
Like a forest bows to winter
Beneath the deep white silence
I will quietly resist
Like a flower in the desert
That only blooms at night
I will quietly resistFaithless - Neil Peart

Best Concert you ever went to!!!
by purplesofa inim listening to moody blues right now, remembering a concert i went to of theirs in the early 90's when i lived in missouri.
it was by far the best concert i even have been to....they are not my favorite group but i do like them.
i wish i could bottle that night up and bring it out to play again and again.

Best Concert - Rush, Moving Pictures Tour and Snakes and Arrows Tour (its a tie)
Kansas put on a good show too (around 1980)
Ted Nugent was interesting........I also liked seeing Blackfoot back in the day.
Molly Hatchet was a good live southern band (I own one the guitars they used in studio for the Flirtin With Disaster album). Never got to see Lynard Skynard.
But yeah, best concert, Rush, those guys are at the top of the profession as musicians.

The official "Reminisce about your most hated convomition site" thread
by B_Deserter ini cannot think of any worse place to have a convention than the pontiac silverdome.
for years my family went to south bend, indiana to avoid it.
then when south bend stopped having conventions (probably having something to do with the catholics not appreciating the brothers slamming the religion that financed, built, and hosts the lovely arena they were using), we tried madison, wisconsin for a year, before finally trudging back over to silverdome.

Atlanta, GA, Fulton County Stadium (outdoor), 1969 (I think). That assembly (5 days) is legendary in the southeast US. Heat, intense afternoon thunderstorms (think monsoon), people passing out left and right, tossing their cookies in the bathrooms. Sisters were wearing flip flops becuase there legs and feet were so swollen they couldn't put their shoes on. The speakers podium was on the pitchers mound and I remember one particular bolt of lightning struck so close that everybody ran for cover, except the speaker, he didn't miss a beat.
Outdoor assemblies in the southeast, what were they thinking......
