I have never had the opportunity to travel outside the US (yet ); However, I tend to gravitate to Oceans. I love being on the water and find comfort and solice from the sea. So any where near salt air for me.

by diamondblue1974 indo you have a favourite place in the world...if so where is it, why and do you have photos?.
mine has to be nisyros (a very small greek island near kos); i last visited there some years ago and ever since i was captivated by its beauty and tranquility.
in short its a volcanic island but unspoiled by tourism; the people are amazing and so down to earth.. take a look.

A warning....
by Justice-One ini just posted this on another forum i visit, in their "religion" section.
i wanted to put out a warning, because so many people think the jw's are "good people" and may get sucked in before they know it.
what ya think?......

I often wonder what convinced my maternal figure to become a JW. The only conclusion I can logically come up with is peer pressure; One of her friends converted.
Now having said that, I had a 'wordly school friend' that was very confused; I left almost 20 years ago and she actually became a JW a couple of years ago;

JW dress fads
by rassillon ini was just looking at the revelation book and some of the illustrations reminded me of some of the dress fads which i have seen growing up as a jw.
what fads did you see at the halls?.
the one that got me to thinking was the sun dress on page 51. .

The only time I have gone to Church for the last 18 years were for the ritual weddings, communions/confirmations and funerals (crib to casket). It was very weird for me. I never stepped foot into a Church until I D.A.; Married a non-practicing Catholic in a non-religious ceremony; But we attend the functions as a family (of 2).
The paternal figure was born and raised Catholic; Maternal figure a very protestant family; Sibling unit was born and christened Catholic. Celebrated all the holidays with extended family; At a very young memorable age, all that was taken away and she was then raised and baptised as a JW. I was born into the cult. They fit back into the 'wordly' ways of understanding the various Church rituals, I feel like a fish out of water, even to the point where Maternal figure criticized me for not knowing some of the prayers chanted...selective memory

What funeral will you have?
by Gilberto inthere has been a couple of threads about death just lately and it got me thinking about what funeral i would have.
i hope it won't be for many years yet though.. when you are a dub it would have just happened.. when i was fading i would have just accepted that it would have been what my wife wanted.
i would have also had to have a dub funeral for her.

Similar to Forscher situation, Husband advised I was being cremated and since we have not fulfilled 'our dreams of traveling' he would spread my ashes throughout his journey

Who would tell 9/11 survivors to just get over it?
by Swan inmaybe the same people who post on this board and tell us to just get over it.
i get so tired of them dismissing our experiences and trauma by saying "why do you have to tear jehovah's organization down?
just get over it and move on!".
