Bibles are expensive. If you walk by a cart, ask for a Bible. -

THOUGHTS ON UPGRADING TO (Free) WINDOWS 10
by Terry ini've been using windows 7 for several years and have had no complaints.. i've tried many browsers and settled on google chrome.
it has absolutely everything i want or need.. i kept hearing about the free upgrade to windows 10, so i went to youtube and watched endless "reviews" pro and con.. what pushed me over the (microsoft edge) was the fact i could test drive the new operating system.
for 30 days and go back to windows 7 if i didn't like it!

What's a word that describes the way Witnesses behave as a group?
by paul from cleveland ini can't recall the word that describes a group that keeps to itself like the witnesses do.
i thought it was "insular" but i don't think that's the one i'm looking for after reading the definition.
i remember an elder using the word "clannish" and that has the proper definition but it reminds me of a group of elves.

So Mrs. OTWO and I see something on television about Cuban cigars. She asks me if they are allowed into the United States. I told her that I believe there is a softening of the rules, but they are still difficult to get. (As it turns out, but unknown to me at the time of this conversation, a U.S. citizen leaving Cuba can now have $100 worth of tobacco products with them.)
So Mrs. OTWO mentions how we might should go when tourism first opens up because we could see Cuba before it's spoiled. Without really thinking about how "worldly" and "normal" that sounds for a JW, I don't really say anything. She says, "...so would I be able to bring Cuban cigars back or not?"Here's my answer: "Well as one of Jehovah's Witnesses, somewhere along the way to getting them for someone, you will remember that you are not allowed to decide for yourself if it's okay. You will remember that your religion says they are evil and from the devil and you will freak out if even someone gives you a box of cigars for free right before you board your plane for home, and you will not even pass them on to another passenger but throw them away."
Her answer was literally "Oh.......yeah."

Had a wonderful visit with Mr and Mrs Flipper Sat.
by 3rdgen ini haven't posted much lately because i got a new job at the end of nov. and it's taken much of my time and mental energy.
i still read though and care for you all very much so i thought i should let you know about the meet-up i had yesterday with mr and mrs flipper.. hubby got a call the day before from flipper saying he and his wife were going to visit his mother (who is in a rest home in my town) and would we like to meet up for coffee?
hubby couldn't make it but i was delighted to accept.. we picked a burger place not far from the rest home and where i knew jdubs don't usually hang out on saturdays.

I love my dear friends, the Flippers. So glad they made that visit, and you all had such a great time. I have been to their home, slept on their couch twice. And of course, along with you, have spent time with them at Tahoe. I hope all is well with you at your job and all, and it's awesome that you want to check in on Flipper's mother. -

WT should admit that 1914
by bobld inwas a man made date when jesus came and that a generation is not 102 plus years.. why not say something like this.when the disciples asked jesus for a sign and the end of the age.jesus gave them a composite sign and said all these things will take place.when-before the people now living(at the end of the age which no one knows)have all died..

I think this thread could just be titled: WT SHOULD ADMIT THAT>>>>>
.....and there is so much they should admit.
Today's Watchtower is officially founded on a group of people being established "in the last days." It's not easy to dump 1914. They are slowly doing it anyway. -

What Is The Watchtower's Biggest Problem?
by minimus inthe organization has many problems.
certain doctrines are problematic.
the men who run the organizaion have issues.

I left because it was all lies. It doesn't get simpler than that to me.
Since leaving, I really learned better how they damage/destroy lives. So that has taken over as my biggest problem with them.
Whether it is shunning and dividing families or failing to protect children or letting people die for the doctrine, to me those aren't worth arguing over which is biggest. They are nothing but lies and they damage or destroy lives.
