Sometimes, my posts drop everything after the quote. When I try to correct it, it gets worse.
I said after quoting eyuse2badub above:
"They will NEVER attach new doctrine to their old failed predictions for 1975. They will not attach anything new to something that reminds people how wrong they were. It will never happen."

New Armageddon date?
by neat blue dog inlooking at the most recent wt the study article focuses on the jubilees.
the made a separate box in the article to highlight the math behind jubilees, and i'm wondering if they're trying to get people thinking and stir up the pot without actually making a false prophecy.
for instance: jubilees happened every 7 times 7 years.

Look out for 2025! That will be the Jubilee year dating from 1975. Remember 1975 the "can't fail " year that Armageddon would destroy billions!
Yep 1975 + 50 = 2025.
Oops is there a zero year that I missed? If so maybe it's 2026. My guess is as good as theirs!

Jehovah's Witnesses are like Scientology but for famous "Black" people instead of famous "White" people.

Seeking advice
by Mizalisa ini'm not a jw, nor was i raised jw.
for the past three years i have been involved with a man who was raised jw, who at first told me he no longer believed as they did, but who, it has become clear over time, has not told his family or religious community the truth.
he has strung me along for years, never introduced me to anyone in his life.

My condolences on your loss of love. I just wanted to add that you should not be wanting to kick yourself for not realizing how "in" he still is. He was lying to himself as much as anything else.
While it would be wonderful to help such a person, the most help was to leave and have him realize what he lost because he wasn't ready to look at it honestly.
I wish you peace. Hey, there are a bunch of awesome single ex-Jehovah's Witnesses on this site. The vast majority of them will never go back. LOL, but you might just want to go out there and find someone not involved at all. -

The biggest mistake.
by Half banana ina long time ago, before television radio and films, before printing, before the invention of writing, people listened only to the spoken word—and the cry of birds, the wind whistling through the trees and the sea crashing on the sea shore.
before written text they knew about the gods because high up there in the night sky was where they lived; gods, goddesses and immortal heroes.
the constellations told of their exploits.

I believe that mankind had mostly outgrown any literal belief in their own stories. They pretty well knew that myths were told as entertainment or to remember the constellations and because they didn't have much else in the way of stories except gossip.
The gatherers of the Bible, I believe the same was true for awhile. But somewhere in there, priests of one kind or another messed it all up. Compare Christianity to Islam or eastern beliefs- they still retain much of that idea that their stories are just stories. -

Trump Derangement Syndrome Is Alive and Well
by minimus ini was on facebook and a person i have known for a long time posted how trump is mentally ill and is truly a psychopath.
a couple of her friends chimed in when i suggested that perhaps the fb friend was really the psychopath.
a couple of her friends began to defend her but i was surprised by how many people defended the president!

Adding to Blondie's story, I was an attendant at a Circuit Assembly and this lady was having an episode of some kind in the hallway, so I took her to First Aid which was "manned" by a professionally trained nurse who was a "sister."
She determined that the lady needed an ambulance. But some attendant brother-in-charge wanted to get the brother-in-charge of First Aid to make that call. The nurse stated he was not a medical person and had no idea where he was sitting. I told the attendant brother-in-charge that I would call 911 on my cell phone right now if he didn't let the nurse do it right now. He backed off.
Waiting for the ambulance, I determined that the lady was a "study" of a couple here and came with them. I asked where the couple was sitting and got a general area. I said I would find them and get them. Now the attendant brother-in-charge told me not to disturb the meeting. Without saying "Fu*& off!" I told him I would find these people and offer minimal disturbance. So I did, and it was minimal.
The show must go on. The head penis-holders want to feel special. It's ridiculous. -

Even joining a discussion on whether the "Divine Name" was pronounced as Yah Weh, Jehovah, Yoho, or Shithead allows you to reinforce within your mind the idea that there is a "Divine" being behind the name.
He isn't there. Whatever is out there is not divine. It doesn't matter what a bunch of goat herders did to merge creation stories and myths and what way the name was to be pronounced.
Rant over. -

The only way they will say another Armageddon Date is if they are so totally desperate to retain members and get their money that they think it is necessary.
Having said that, I am confident that such a time of desperation will come.
I think they will shoot for 2034 eventually. They have floated the idea so often to gauge reactions, mentioning the 120 years of Noah's days before the flood in various articles where they go on to mention the last days in comparison. -
