I still remember this one. I must have been about 6 years old. We lived in an old house and I had the same dream? (don't know if I can call it that as I was wide awake at the time) night after night. Middle of night I suppose, and I would wake up in a sweat. I remember being very hot, unable to move and staring at me from the doorway of my room was a ginger coloured cat that was so big it came up to half the doorways height. I remember being so scared for what seemed an eternity, and then I must have fallen asleep. I used to dread going to sleep. Funny enough, my parents renovated and added to the house, and when I got a new bedroom, it never happened again. It sounds so stupid when I read this post myself, but I can still remember the feeling, one I never want to feel again.

insanity
by winnie ini wonder why families treat there own flesh and blood with so much contempt because they are inactive or disfellowshipped.. 6 week ago my father who is po of congregation ask me if i would like to go to the cricket to watch australia and england play.at the time i asked if any jw were going he said no.i payed for the ticket.did not hear from him for 6 weeks so rang up yesterday to ask about arrangments and was told that the brothers were going.
yes that right 3 elders and my nephew.. i did not ask to go i was invited.i payed for my ticket 6 weeks ago yet did not even get aphone call.when i conveyed my disgust to my father he blamed me.i can not fathom his reasoning.. so some elder is sitting in my seat watching cricket with a ticket i payed for.hope he gets hit on the head with a cricket ball.. my father is an intelligent man yet sometimes there thinking processes are so warped.they would not treat some drug addict they dragged to kingdom hall who shows interest the same way they treat own flesh and blood.. in 20 years time i think that jws will be a very small religion or almost extinct.if they keep up with there current thinking they will self destruct.tearing families apart will not make for a strong organization.

My husband (english) loves this one.
A member of the Barmy Army, sick of sitting through match after match of cricket with England Losing, goes to the doctors and says
"Doctor, I'm sick of being english. I want to become a Kiwi. What do I have to do?"
Doctor: "Easy. Just a simple operation. We put you under and take out half your Brain."
Englishman: "Ok, lets do it."
After operation, doctor visits the englisman in his recovery room.
Doctor: "I'm really sorry, but I have some bad news for you. We didn't remove half your brain, we accidently removed all of it."
Englishman: "No worries mate!"

Thank goodness for girls I say.
I have 2 girls and 3 boys, and I have to say that my boys have never done anything more disgusting as what my daughter did when she was 2!
She discovered (at that time having a fascination with flies) that if she smeared dog poo all over her arms (and face, legs and anything else she could reach), the flies would come and land on her!!! I must say, she wasn't impressed though when I hosed her down before I would let her in the house...it was middle of winter!

JWs in Field Service Today--Christmas.
by M.J. ini guess the local kh is doing a special field service outing today, which my wife will be a part of...on christmas morning.
i think this is intrusive and disrespectful.. did any of you do fs on christmas?.
is this a common thing among jws?
-
winnie
I remember my parents making me go in fs one christmas day. It fell on a saturday as I recall. Hated every minute of it, but 'placed' 2 of those Jesus books. My impression was that people felt sorry for me. I felt so uncomfortable about invading peoples privacy, not to mention the embarressment of it all, that I 'fell sick' each christmas week to avoid it.

The JW and the apostate -- who's faith is vulnerable?
by Fatfreek inin this fantasy reality series, you are in charge of a hotel with 100 rooms.
they are empty with certain exceptions mentioned below.
you are also in command, for one day, of 100 jw's and 100 jw apostates.

I don't see the point, even if it is a fantasy. When I have successfully pointed out unanswerable questions to Jw's they just feign indifference. Only just recently, and to a P/O, was such a conversation, and it was concluded with the P/O saying, that "even if we are wrong, it's still a good way of life!"
Yeah... if you don't mind being ostracized, judged, constantly watched, Having your family torn apart, told what to do...need I go on!?!

JW Children Lie in Custody Cases
by compound complex indirect and cross-examination questions in child custody cases.
wtb&ts, page 42.
"be careful that they [jw children being questioned] don't get the impression that they are in a demonstration at the circuit assembly, when they would show that the first things in life are service and going to the kingdom hall.

To Orborus 21,
You seem intent on belittling some on this forum (even to the extent of name calling) who have pointed out that you may be wrong in your opinions. While I respect everyone's opinion towards the JW religion, and this may be a side issue, I would be interested to know how you would answer the following.
You have mentioned that the booklet does not say to lie to the courts. This is true, but it does give the impression that you would be wise to 'mask' the truth from the courts so as not to damage the possibility of custody rights. Omission is the same as lying in the courts eyes, isn't it? The CCB has a couple of sections where the average JW would have their custody rights severely damaged if they were to answer truthfully.
I quote from the booklet (a couple of examples):
Blood.
Explain that you are aware of many serious and possibly fatal dangers from blood...
avoidance of blood in my opinion and the opinion of many in the medical community, is a sound, healthful course.
(I have not read anywhere that medical personel have discouraged the use of blood. Nor have I seen mentioned from the medical personel's perspective that avoidance of it is a sound, healthful course. As for any possible dangers from blood, surely the possibility of prolonging a life far outweighs the small amount of risk associated from a blood transfusion?)
Following these very broad statements, are questions one might encounter during court proceedings. Three in particular were of interest:
Would you suffer any religious penalty if you or your child were given a blood transfusion?
Would you be subject to alienation or disapproval from church members if you or your child were given a blood transfusion?
Would you ever consent to your child be given a blood transfusion?
In my experience, the first two answers would be a Yes, and the third a definite No.
Religion.
You want to emphasize the fact that you are a thinking, well balanced and reasonable individual...
Questions one may be asked:
Do you believe you have the only right religion?
Do you believe all false religion is under the control of Satan?
Will God destroy all false religion?
As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, do you believe only Jehovah's Witnesses will be saved?
Answers to all the above questions would be a Yes.
How would you feel if your child decided he/she did not want tobe one of Jehovah's Witnesses and chose to belong to another church?
Your child would be disfellowshipped and you would be advised to cease all association with them.
If your child, out of curiosity, decided that he wanted to attend the services of another church, would you allow him to? Would you accompany him?
This would never happen! It would never be allowed.
The above questions, if answered truthfully, would not present a reasonable individual, thus the need for 'bending' the truth.
(A sideline, but I remember reading somewhere that when faced with questions from court proceedings, JW's are told that certain information which may be harmful to them may be omitted, with the reasoning that the courts do not need to know certain information. A bit presumptious, I thought.)

I can't seem to copy and paste a picture in a microsoft word document to my auction description. The words appear, but the pictures don't. (they are pictures from the internet I have previously copy and paste). No advice from ebay is forthcoming. What am I doing wrong? I have very little computer experience, so a simple form answer would be good. (consider me dumb where computers are concerned!)
Thanks in advance.
