This has some very strong opinions of the family if you read the responses.
And I have to agree with some of them. Especially the 'buddy' system they have outlined. If you cannot bring up your children without assigning them a 'buddy' in the form of an older bro or sis, who, in all respects, 'raises them', then I think it may be time to STOP having kids. Just my opinion.

I watched the latest show last night. 10 Boys and 7 girls, and no plans to stop!
And the big house they built...7000sqm...they own it outright. Must be profitable to have interviews every week...your own programs... although I did notice while they were fitting out the house with appliances, furniture, plants etc that they zoomed in on the brands eg fridgidaire. Makes me wonder if they got it all for free if they advertised it on their shows.
I wonder if that would work for me...

I have 5 kids, and it's a handful with them everyday, let alone 16, and maybe having more!!!
And they are home schooled...so no break for mum and dad!
I do think it's a little unfair on the kids though as it seems they have too many responsibilities for their age.
Don't get me wrong, I'm all for chores but I don't think it's right for children to be doing things like laundry and looking after little ones constantly. It makes them grow up too fast.
But they seem happy enough...
I only wish my kids could be as tidy as theirs...sigh!

By the way, just in case you were all thinking I was a tad schizophrenic, my hubby also uses this id to post his comments. That's why my comments sometimes are contradicting, as auldsoul saw regarding his post. We don't always see 'eye to eye' either. Makes things interesting!

Enjoyed the 'heated' discussions yesterday, but have calmed down now, and I'm sorry if I upset or offended anyone!
I admit, I do judge people, but I try not to, so kick my ass if I get self righteous or judgemental again!!!
having read posts over the last few months, i have come to the conclusion that there must be alot of 'active' jw's who still regularly attend meetings/field service etc.. don't you feel that by posting your many and varied topics, usually complaining/disagreeing with the wbts, that you are being hypocritical?
when you post your information, obtained sometimes in an questionable manner, doesn't it make you question your own underhanded actions?.
you converse with many on this forum who are disfellowshipped/dissasociated, yet if you knew who these ones were, face to face, you would not give them the time of day!
You don't know my situation, nor what I have been through to get to this point. I certainly don't mean to incite anyone to suicidal thoughts if that is what you are implying! I am the way I am because that is the only way I know how to cope with my present situation. As for expecting such high standards, and demanding that others meet them, where did I say that? If ones feel that they have to stay in the 'truth' because of family and friends, then that is there decision, but don't attack me for asking them why. I know all active JW's don't treat outsiders the way they are told too, but I must have done something wrong in a previous life, for all I have ever known is critisism, judgement, and punishment metered out when not deserved! I have not yet met a JW that is accepting of ones who are not an active JW, as some of you claim to be, so excuse me for being skeptical. I have even helped others that have been disfellowshipped, and not judged them, only to have them turn on me when they get re-instated.
I can't deal with this anymore. I'm going to watch tv.

Some people replying to my post feel that I have taken a 'hard line' with all you active JW's. I'm sorry that you feel this way, but you have no idea what active JW's have done to my family! And if you cannot handle being questioned about your actions, then you shouldn't reply to some topics raised. I will never begin to understand why some of you feel the need to whinge about your situations. You put yourselves there, you can change your circumstances. It is as easy or as simple as you choose to make it.
As for the one who has decided that I need to be referred to the forum assistants, exactly what have I done wrong, but to disagree with the stand some here have decided to take? Reminds me of being a JW, being referred to the elders for daring to disagree. I have not been abusive, have not threatened anyone, and as far as I'm concerned, not insulted anyone. I have not made any vulgar comments as some have felt the need to add in their reply. So I say again, what have I done that could be interpreted as 'harmful'?
