I'm a fan of most hard rock music. I play guitar for fun, and make up my own tunes. My stint in the borg delayed me from being able to do something with it. Anyone else here play an instrument?

i was over at the freeminds site and found this article.
it really got me because i used to go to the tacoma dome for conventions.. http://www.watchtowernews.org/tacomapark.htm.
take care.. andyman:
I used to go to the Tacoma Dome, also. We would rush over to the Almond Roca store during lunch. One year I volunteered to make sandwiches at 6 am to feed the hungry flock. While making the sandwiches, known as "hoagies", one JW renamed us , declaring, "we are Jehoagie's Witnesses!"
It figures about the parking thing. More doublespeak at work. And always a controversy about fees and taxes.

this is a topic i hadn't thought much about until zep brought it up on the bible research forum, i thought i'd drag it over here.. what would happen in your opinions?
would there be a "old timer" sect with all of the traditional teaching?
how 'bout a sect that is more interested in blood reform, along with relaxing the df policy?

How 'bout a sect that is more interested in blood reform, along with relaxing the df policy? I wonder who would take charge of the new sects? If the "old timers", including most of the GB were left with a fraction of their flock, would the incorporated WTS fold, having to sell off their massive real estate holdings, no longer able to support them financially?
Or, will the dissenters just keep under ground like they are now? I can see it now on one of the KH's' "Second Cong. of Jehovah's Witness", or "Reformed Cong. of Jehovah's Witnesses", or "First Cong. of Former Jehovah's Witnesses."
Just too weird.

BQ,
I enjoyed sex similar to the way you do before I became a JW. Then, I stopped practicing just about every form of intimacy. The guilt that was laid upon me(pardon the pun)forced me to stop. After a few years, I figured out that Jesus and the apostles said nothing about the subject. Like Rhw and Andy say, if you get involved at the KH, you'll not have much time(if you're a GOOD JW) and sex will be limited, lest guilt be heaped upon you.
An elder at my hall actually gave a talk on the subject of sex, and guess what? Oral sex is a no-no, and heaven forbid if the word "anal" is involved! There is much more than meets the eye at first glance to being a JW. Be very careful! If you want to quit most of your activities besides work, then become a JW.

i have done alot of posting on different boards since i started on the internet.
i have found that jw's are really not as "seperate" from the world as they claim to be.. as a jw i was told we had to be "seperate" from the world.
you know, get drunk, use drugs, abuse our families, cheat on taxes, lie, be greedy, etc.. but from what i have seen in my old congregtion, and the stories i have read here and on other boards, this statement isn't really true.
Wouldn't it be way cool if a major tv news magazine like 20/20 did an expose' of the WTS? Maybe even a made for tv movie special or documentary exposing the WTS. It would be interesting to see the WTS spin doctors at work.
A phone call from 20/20 to the WTS:
"Yes, this is John Stossel at 20/20, may I speak to a mister Milton Henschel? Oh, he's on a cruise. What, you're willing to let me speak to the Society's legal department? Isn't there someone on the Governing Body I can speak to? Pardon me? They're all comatose or bedridden? What's that? You're willing to direct me to the Society's website? No, no, I don't want a subscription to the Watchtower. Really? I thought Fred Franz was dead? What? He still directs WTS doctrine?"
"And so, folks, once again we at 20/20 have failed to get an interview with the WTS. Good night folks, this is Babwa Watez at 20/20, and we'll see you next week when we take a Watchtower tour. We'll let you see first hand what goes on in the dank dark halls of the WTS's headquarters."

Good topic, Andyman.
I also know for a fact that several JW's I know work for cash under the table. Electrical contractor and a mason. These are JW owned businesses where I live that practice such things, and more. There are many JW cleaning businesses, but I don't know anything about those. "No part of the world."
The electrical contractor filed for bankruptcy, and changed the name of his company, then went back to work. The mason stole his own fleshly AND spiritual brothers' wife. Yes, a JW committed fornication with his own brothers' wife. When his brother divorced her, he married her. There were shots fired into the fornicating JW's car winshield by his own brother. Not pretty. Their dad is an elder. "No part of the world."
Elders start smear campaign against inactive publisher, get certain ones to write letters against him, and totally trash this brother. Why did they do this? The elders involved said he took money from different JWs and didn't repay. Not true. I know. I was one he supposedly stole from. The elders were frightened of him because many JW's would go to him for help with car problems, when they needed help building or fixing something. The elders didn't like their flock going to an inactive JW for help. They thought he was a bad influence. This guy did nothing but help people. The brothers' reputation was so badly damaged that he moved out of town. He is disabled now, and has nothing. He is considering a law suit. I talked to him just 2 weeks ago. "No part of the world."
There's much more.

BT,
since the few of us on this subject seem skeptical anyway, can you go ahead and reveal the 42 months info?
Don't get me wrong, I'm very interested in what you have to say. I just don't want to pay for the climax of what you are trying to tell us. Is the "Report" available online?
Also, why do you seem to push Christ behind the God of the Law covenant? As SS brought out, wasn't Christ the fulfillment of the old law code?
Wasn't it Christ who was given all authority and power?
Is Jesus Christ God in your opinion, or are they separate beings? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to see where you're coming from.

SS,
Thanks for doing what I was too lazy to do. I, too, find the emphasis on the "old testament" in BT's post to be digging for hidden meaning when Christ was the fulfillment.
Was it Christ's purpouse for us in this day and age to look back to before his appearance? Or do we look to Christ's appearance and forward.

BT,
Well, obviously these are ideas and scriptures not presented to me from the WTS. If there is a God, and the Bible is true, who am I to argue. These ARE radical ideas that you present for our time. I want to believe that somehow God will make things right. And of course I would selfishly want it in my own lifetime.
Email me with details if you wish, please.

i am sure most of you have seen the following quote form the wbts's pr site:.
"do you shun former members?.
those who simply cease to be involved in the faith are not shunned.
Friend,
How in the hell can you call yourself "friend"? Who are you a friend to? You go out of your way to shoot down any adverse behavior about JW's as reported by other JW's and former JW's. I have myself as a JW participated in horribly unfeeling behavior as well as thousands of other JWs. Do you live in a bubble? Or are you in the perfect congregation? I find YOUR story an embellishment of JW behavior. At least it's a story that's few and far between.
Do you think we are phonies who like to pose as xJW's just to condemn the WTS? Do you think we make up stories to get faithful JW's to leave the WTS? No, "Friend", I believe most here tell it like it is. THAT is MY experience.
