i can say with some conviction though, that yk does not believe that "biblical interpretation" is "open to speculation". (end of sentence)........
the "as you suggest" was added just to say that you suggest "biblical interpretation is open to speculation", NOT that you suggest yk believes "biblical interpretation" to be "open to speculation" (as i do not think any intelligent reader of yks readings would suggest, and you sound like an intelligent reader/writer.)......
by rights, i should have just omitted the "as you suggest". this ending to the sentence was just pointless and confusing, as they were in fact two seperate ideas that didnt need to be linked in one sentence.......the two ideas namely being......

1)hillary suggests that biblical interpretation is open to speculation.
2)yk does not believe hillarys suggestion that biblical interpretation is open to speculation.

-i appreciate your opinion of yk, everyone is entitled to their own opinion. i can say with some conviction though, that yk does not believe that "biblical interpretation" is "open to speculation" as you suggest. on the contrary, he believes everyone should follow his inspired translation or "speculation", which is the very opposite of open....its closed tighter than a drum. also, when i said that "most" (not all) find his writings annoying and/or ridiculous, this was a conclusion i had made reading over some of his various threads on this forum, and reading the various responses/replies to his starting posts. if you look back over them yourself, youll find the majority either rolling their eyes, trying to get him to see that hes actually apostate, or simply ignoring his "shout from the street corner" approach to preaching (see post on this thread by logical, yawn).....so, majority=most (not all). but again, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

well, that was one helluva guess, but no. let me explain the name since you asked......dubla is actually double "a", my initials, A.A. some of my friends here (south bend, indiana) call me double a, so i use that handle all the time. i used to be a jw, its been many years though since i left. i added the j to the handle just for this forum, and for that exact reason (sounds like jdub), to throw people off i guess....but now i wish i could go back and change it, i liked dubla better! simon, help, i want to change my handle and dont know how!! anyhow, thanks for the warm welcome....and i already "joined right in", posted a few not-so-funny jokes up the screen here a little ways.........nice to meet you waiting, take care....

-i strongly disagree with this statement, only because it is my belief that other scriptures lend in understanding the meaning of a scripture (john 1:1 for example), and it goes beyond just studying the original greek meanings for the words in the translation (and yes they have merit and certainly are important, ive never denied that).

first off, im very surprised at the fact you even took the time to respond to my post. usually ive noticed you avoid trying to "get back" so to speak at people who "ridcule" you (your words, not mine); my only thought is maybe i got under you skin a little. anyhow, id like to respond to your post as well.....

yk, let me ask you something. why do you do this? why do you spend such an obvious LARGE portion of your time on this forum, arguing (not preaching) to "apostates"? wouldnt your time be better spent going door to door, trying to reach those that you might actually have a chance to get to listen to you? either youre very ignorant (thinking youll convert "apostates"), or youre really not as faithful a servant of jehovah as you claim to be. maybe youre counting this time as service time as many on here have suggested you do, i dont know (which again would be ridiculous, becuase youre merely arguing with those you know you will never "reach"). you might want to give this some thought.

are there others that believe this way...in other words, are you part of a religion that carries these beliefs? once again, id like to say you explained yourself very well. and although i might not immediately agree with your viewpoint, you definitely make it hard to argue against, on a logical reasoning basis. thats the problem with people like hairdog (im not sure if youve been reading our posts or not), and bibleboy.....they leave their viewpoints open (to being exposed with fallacies) way to easily by never being able to EXPLAIN what they believe, logically with reason.....they can only either call it a "mystery", or they can concentrate on one scripture or the greek meaning behind one word to try and prove this trinity that just isnt there. this is where i notice you differ, and this intrigues me as your arguments always MAKE SENSE, which is never true of trinitarians. two, not three, hmmmmm.

i read through some old posts on this thread today, and obviously you have a unique theory/belief on god and jesus. most of what you say makes alot of sense, linking god and jesus as "one" so to speak, but leaving out the holy ghost (adding this holy spirit into the triune godhead is what the trinitarian always trip on. its just not there in the bible). one could certainly argue more effectively the link of god and jesus than one could argue the whole trinity. i think you do argue this point very effectively.

i dont agree with everything youve stated, obviously since ive been arguing against jesus having to beginning. you argued that eve came from adam (both finite), just as jesus came from god (both infinite), which seemingly is a valid theory. im wondering though with that comparison, how do you distiguish who came first? i mean, adam came BEFORE eve, correct? does this mean then that god the father came BEFORE god the son, or jesus?

also, one more question for you.......how do you personally tackle the "begotten" issue? im sure youre aware the word begotten refers directly to being "created", and we all know jesus is begotten of god, yet you do not believe jesus to have been created. is it just as easy as saying when he went down to earth and took human form, at this point he was "begotten" or "created"?

just wanted to get your thoughts on these ideas....thanks.
