  Why do loyal dubs post here

  this issue, of course, has been raised before.

  of course there's no one simple reason.

  arrogance, i'm sure plays a role -- the ones that feel the wts counsel to avoid dialogue with opposers is meant for the ``weaker ones'' and cannot possibly apply to someone as well-grounded and mature as they.. it may be a tacit acknowledgement that the society's arguments against debate are specious.

  there are "loyal dubs" here, and there are "apostates" here. the dubs are looking for answers to their doubts, and "apostates" are trying to give them answers. then theres youknow. what the hell is he besides a raving lunatic? not only does he make a fool of himself to the so called "apostates", but he gives the jws a bad name (okay, a worse name), and most likely helps turn the searching jws running in the opposite direction from the wtbts......bravo yk, keep up the good work in helping people see how ridiculous it all is!!

  therefore we must follow what the organization says and not celebrate our birthday.

  thanks for the trip down memory lane. only the ones in here that grew up a witness can fully understand the pain and frustration behind that post. the part about going to the library during bday parties really struck a chord with me. its like im sitting in that library all over again, wondering how good those cupcakes are (and they were usually cupcakes, werent they?), waiting for the teacher to come get me and tell me the parties over, i could come back to class.

  saluting the flag was always a new laugh, every time, never failed. comments, giggles, stares, questions.

  "we dont celebrate christmas, jesus wasnt even born on that day...."

  "what the hell are you talking about dork? look what i got this year."

  i could go on and on, but youve already summed it up nicely. cant wait to celebrate christmas this year with you know who :).......

  i seriously ask this question in light of some ridiculous experiences i have had in recent times.

  a while back,a freind of mine purchased a new home.

  a housewarming party was planned for her.

  -"a few jw's" is a false statement. as far as my experiences have been, and thats all the surrounding congregations here (indiana), the "no wordly people" at a function "rule"(your word nytel) is indeed a blanket teaching from the society. ive seen many a function not only frowned upon and boycotted by the elders, but also elders meetings and reprimands following the function(s). of course, maybe its different where nytel lives than the rest of the world. anyone else have similar experiences to share on the topic?

  many things are "conscience" matters....but id suggest very strongly that going out for drinks with "wordly" people would surely fall under the umbrella of "bad associations spoil useful habits." but yes, you are correct, following the societys counsel isnt neccesarily a requisite in all cases; in this case you simply choose not to heed the counsel from the podium. (saying, "it isnt a rule" is merely a cop out. many do this so they can have their cake and eat it too). hypocrisy is very common among jws, so dont feel too bad about it.

  has anyone on here ever come across the tiniest shred of evidence supporting this date for the fall of jerusalem.

  i understand rolf furuli is about to but something out on this subject (see elihubooks.com), however even a table of contents has been a long time in coming from this site.

  if no evidence exists what can he possibly be writing about?

  secondarily, the question has been: are jehovahs witnesses really jehovahs witnesses?

  or, perhaps worded differently: is the watchtower really the voice of christs appointed faithful and discreet slave of prophecy?

  -im pretty sure any and every elder, gb member, etc, would agree this statement in itself qualifies you as an "apostate" as you so like to call everyone else. (but im sure the fact that youre considered "apostate" has already been pointed out to you many times over)

  -we are in 100% agreement on this one. you are correct, they are just men, as you are just a man, and youre right on the money here. no one should take faith in the words of men, or in an organization founded by men.......only in god.
