  i seriously ask this question in light of some ridiculous experiences i have had in recent times.

  a while back,a freind of mine purchased a new home.

  a housewarming party was planned for her.

  I would imagine the mere fact that you visit this site would be grounds for disfellowshipping, or at least, what they used to call, "pulic reproving", or at least taking away your microphone and selling literature behind the counter duties.

  ......and didnt really reply to it. would you visiting this site be such grounds? would {associating with/talking to} disfellowshipped and dissaccociated ones on a daily basis be such grounds? i dont think the post began as you leading a double life, indeed this may be a subject to devote an entirely new thread to. i think they are valid questions though, as i think the questions ive posed to you on this thread are valid. you seem to conveniently avoid the questions that you do not wish to or cannot answer, and just throw in your two cents where you please. a discussion normally calls for two sides, and each side exchanges {ideas/questions} that the {opposing/other} side then proceeds to respond to. can you carry on in a discussion such as what ive described? or are you relegated to question dodging?

  I am going against the very grain that many of you hold dear too. The fact that dubs are brainwashed.

  please elaborate on this idea for me as well. how are you going against that grain that many of us "hold dear to"? you mean by going against the org. and the counsel from the podium, that is your way of free thinking? (and if this isnt a clear cut example of living a double life, i dont know what is. but again, another time, another thread perhaps.) id be interested to know what you meant here (among other things id be interested in you responding to).

  -so youre saying some congregations handle it differently than others? lol, WOW, thanks for the new insight. of course some congregations/elders handle it one way, and some handle it another way. this is a form of SECTS. the jw religion claims to be the only one that is uniform it its beliefs/practices, but your posts here are just showing us the exact opposite. most (not all) would agree (i sound like a broken record), that the congregation is STRONGLY encouraged to avoid associations with the world. correct? (im still waiting for an answer on this one). so, again, when this is overlooked in some cases, (such as scmoozing) or even practiced in some cases by elders (having "wordly mates"), is this or is this not hypocrisy? and AGAIN ill ask, is this simply a concience matter, whether or not to heed the counsel from the podium?

  -again, i wasnt asking you what you felt about "what to believe in if not god," i was asking six what his/her opinion on the matter was. im sure your view is interesting to some, just not to me. of course your comments are welcome, as this forum is free to all, they just hold very little if any relevance/importance to me and my response to six.

  oh, surprise that i actually got a response out of you than out of six. first off, i dont neccesarily believe in any of these evil gods you keep ranting about on a daily basis. i was merely asking six what his/her hope was. but since you spoke for six, ill give me observation of your stance as ive seen it so far (for as long as ive been on this forum).......

  -this quote is very indicative of your normal vengeful writings about god. it seems you have much to say in the form of speaking against god and religion, and pointing out all the reasons believing in god is ridiculous, in other words, all the reasons NOT to believe in god. (because of living in fear, because he kills babies, because, becuase, becuase). this is common of athiests, specifically those that USED to have a belief in god, which is what im guessing of you (correct me if im wrong). people in that case usually have a bad experience, or are affected negatively somehow by a religion, and becuase of this grow very bitter towards god, in fact picking up the belief that there is no god many times. (ive seen it before, youre not the first). this is called a cop out. i dont like this "god", so ill choose not to believe in him. its EASIER that way. this is what youve indicated in many of your posts, whether you come out and say it or not. basically its easier to choose not to believe, than to believe.

  -i doubt very strongly that anyone in a religion would attest to the fact that serving their "god" or living their lives in accordance with his will is an "easy" way of life or an "easy ticket" to anything. in fact, the exact opposite is true. if you believe there is no god, then you really have no reason to live your life with any moral standards, do you? well lets see, i can live my life any way i want to, without any consequences. surely bboy, youd agree, that in fact is the "easy ticket" you speak of.

  bottom line is......the counsel from the podium STRONGLY encourages ALL to avoid associations with "the world", correct? so any "schmoozing" that "all" are doing after work, or any "elders" with "worldly mates", etc, are simply examples of hypocrisy among the religion. or do you believe the scripture saying "bad associations spoil useful habits" to be referring to a grey area now? can the "rules" (or lets just say counsel, since it isnt in "writing"), be bent to conform to everyday life, as long as it isnt excessive? where do you draw the line; is it indeed another famous "concience" matter?

  i have to agree with gumby on this one, and i ask some of the same questions of you. you are very harsh to believers on this board from what ive seen; you seem to have little or no respect for others beliefs anymore (and just to let you know, i am not neccesarily a "believer" of anything, im merely searching). but i do wonder of people like you: once you disregard the bible and god completely, what hope do you have left? have you embraced evolution and the big bang theory now? do you still believe in god, but think he is an evil god, a prankster, etc? and what exactly do mean by the "positives this world has to offer"? you are speaking of the same earth i know of arent you? the one that has a species known as humans that are going to completely destroy it (this is a proven scientific fact)....? im not saying without god we have nothing, im merely asking, without god, how did we supposedly get here, and what is so wonderful about the 60-80 yrs. we get to live in this world if indeed there is no afterlife and no hope? again, its a fact that if we continue on this path, a couple of generations from now the earth will be destroyed by man. so this is the great hope for our children and their children?

  i havent been on here for awhile, so youll have to forgive me for not replying to your last post. i realize we are still in a bit of a seperate discussion than you and mr. day are in, but id like to reply to your last post directed at him nonetheless, only because a couple of things in your post really jumped out at me and i believe need notice. (i do intend to continue our conversation when i have time). ill quote you first as usual....

(and i do believe verse 10 indicates "all things" to be the world, VERY clearly). what is interesting here is you use evidence in other scriptures, or what you claim is a lack of evidence in other scriptures (no other place in johns writings, etc.....), to back up your point of "all things" NOT being "the world". i guess wed have to break down verse 10 in the greek, and argue it more, but this is not your style hairy. since when do other scriptures (in your mind with your exegesis) bear such importance on the context of one scripture (john 1:10), and why would one have to cross-reference (a very dangerous practice according to you), the rest of johns writings just to understand the meaning of verse 10?

  -i re-quoted this sentence fragment for emphasis. "there is a good chance..." makes it sound like these are your opinions (which they are), and you have basically no way of proving them (which you dont). also id like to point out that this particular quote is a clear case of REASONING. better be careful with that reasoning stuff hairdog, wouldnt want you to start falling into the trap of "eisegesis".
