Outline they handed out at "Dateline"...

even though i'm not an active jw, my mom is and they handed out an outline at the service meeting last thursday about the dateline program.

even though i didn't go, i did get a copy of the outline and have posted it below.

the only info.

They are totally ignoring a couple of things:

1) It is the law in all fiufty states and the US Government that parents must report physical abuse of tehir children. If a parent refuses to report (does not take advantage of their 'right' to report) they cannot and should not be held as Jehovah's Witnessess in good standing.

2) In those states where there is mandated reporting of child abuse, elders that did not do this have committed a crime and cannot and should not remain elders, for years. Elders that took punitive action against anyone reporting abuse in those states where 'anyone caring for or giving assistance to a child' reported an abuser is BREAKING THE LAW and can be criminally and civily liable---let alone remain Jehovah's Witnesses in good standing.

Anything less than that is crimninal conspiracy.

3) Where are these mandated policies, especially regarding the reporting of abuse by the parents, spelled out?

4) And where is the assistance for the victims/survivors?

As far as I'm concerned, this Dateline Outine is just more prrof of criminal conspiracy.

Barbara Anderson: Yes, because the Watchtower Society didn't want to acknowledgte that these girls were telling the truth becasue they were accusing elders of molesting them.

i have been disfellowshipped for 2 weeks.

my story the shortened version.. i left the organisation 2years 2 months ago.

i live 25 miles from the kingdom hall that i attended for 29 years, man and boy.

Here in the United States members are leaving in near-hemorhage numbers, and NOT being replaced by new converts. These issues take time to work themselves out, but they are working.

A Watchtower away back warned that inactive ones must be prepared to be summoned to a JC at any time, joining the Watchtower is for life. I dunno how legal that is, but someone will get around to adjudicating the issue eventually I suppose.

Sorry for what happeend to you. You at least seem to have kept your sense of humor, hang in there and make new friends. Estimates are that there are 750,000 to 2 million ex-jw's in the world right now, you have LOTS of company and are not alone.

it's cover features a picture of a police man and a young boy and asks the question "police, why do we need them"?.

does anyone else see the irony of this in light of the dateline publicity?

questions on early period (Russell &Co)

i am currently doing some research on the early days and struck a few obstacles for which i need some help from anybody.. 1)russell predicted several times the "rapture of the saints".

this meant a visible return of those saints and that russell & co would rise to heaven.

when they failed to return visibly it was concluded that it did happen but invisible.

spaz, that's very interesting. In a book about JW's and the Holocaust, the Zionist (Jew's/Israel restoration) leanings of the Watchtower drew the atention of Hitler and his goons in the first place.

Then of course, when Watchtower figured that out, they switched gears and began berating Jews. Hitler saw through Watchtower both times. All the land and machinery and bank accounts Watchtower had in Germany didn't hurt either.

Anyway, how sad to think that one of the factors contributing to the death of 1000 Witnesses was STOLEN Zionists doctrines.

"religious confession" HELP NEED INFO

my cdrom disk is not working- does anyone have any infor that you have saved in your archieve that deals with "religious confession".

on date line it was mentioned as a poster has brought out that the elder tried to invoke confession as a reason not to tell anyone.

i would be interested to see what comments that the wt has made on the issue of confessions.

Bible vs JW 2-witness rule

the watchtower and its apologists keep insisting that the bible gives them no choice but to insist on two witnesses to an act of molestation before they can do anything beyond filing a report with headquarters.

there is very clear teaching in the bible that the two-witness principle does not apply to this type of situation.

Maybe it's only me, but I see a big difference. And that's using the NWT Bible even yet.

WHO shall survive Armageddon?

i need a little research help - .

i'm having an argument with a dub and a couple of dub sympathizers, and the dub refuses to say that only jws will live through armageddon.

he keeps repeating "only god can read the ehart" as if it was the new dub mantra.. i only have the 1995 cd, and i would really , really like to be able to offer some quotes from more recent wts books and magaziines that state that only dubs will survive armageddon.. if i'm wrong and the message has changed, i'd like to know that too.. if the message has changed, why bother preaching?
