one of the things i'd like to see / do .... when they are about to give some poor young brother or sister a 'spiritual going over' in one of their damn judicial committes and have lined up three or more elders to intimidate the errant one:.
the 'victim' announces they have some people to help represent them as a dozen rough-looking apostates march in and stand behind the suddenly-less-confident-looking 'representatives of the most high god jehovah' looking over their shoulders to show them what it really feels like to have the the fear of god put into you.. wouldn't that be nice?

a little report from todays meeting.
we had the repetition and one of the questions was to put the x and y word(s) into a sentence.
the sentence was something like this: a true prophet speak x and witnesses of y. almost everyone said the answer was: a true prophet speak the true and witnesses of god.
I was there for a meeting like that, I walked out of it, so Idon't know how it eneded.

not been posting on this board too long, but started my ex jw internet excursion with the philia group back in 1995 (thanx alanf:-)).. not wishing to poke anybody in the eye but i'm curious at those mails i've read where some of you guys are hanging in on there (from where i sit) under the jw tag.
by that i mean you've clearly identified you've not attended meetings, have no intention of going to meetings, maybe (albeit under the jw rules)in a d/a or d/f situation, but laying low.. geniunely interested in why - i got d/f by banging on the elders door (metaphysically speaking) and sitting through a judicial to get out properly.. maybe 33 years as jw straight off (18 years under hillary step formula:-))skewed my thinking, but just curious....
What do you do, read the first three lines of every post, then go on to the next one?
From what I've been reading, the true-blue JW's are totally undeserving of the tremendous ex-jw relatives they have. Many of us have relatives that we don't want to put through a shunning, or be shunned ourselves.
What's wrong with that?
cult-exiting is an individual decision, and the method is an individual choice. many have taken your course, and for years have regretted it.
The best part about these discussion boards, are people sharing experiences so some of us know what to do and not do...beforehand.
I'm glad things went better for you than some of us. I hope they continue to.

as you all know i am now hopelessly in love with bea (bitter mango) and now i can't stop thinking about xena.
Can I make a suggestion....a topic like this might be better on the 'adult forum'...that's why Simon put it there.
That's if it belongs on a public discussion board at all.
Some of us could benefit from a little time on search engines---or some therapy (or in my case MORE therapy).

i got a post on my club telling me in the wt 12/01/01 from "question from the readers," saying it is ok for a jws ot pray for df or da.. from what i was told, the gb has given the green light to pray for a disfellowshipped in private prayer, but not in a public or congregational setting.
i also heard it was just a relitive or family memeber who is df or da.. this is not only "new light.
" but a radical change in wt policy toward the df.
It's in the study articles forum.
AFTER going on and on with reams of disgusting self-justification on the disfellowshipping and shunning of CHILDREN, in their own HOMES, the Watchtower tries to get in a few brownie points by saying _it'sokay to SOMETIMES pray for them PRIVATELY....
